Fox news has experts? This is news to me.

The rampant stupidity of Fox news is funny, but it pisses me off that people believe anything they say.

I cannot wait for Bulletstorm, I need something extremely over the top, manly, and gory (I've pretty much only been play Civ 5 and Minecraft for the past month)
OT:
This isn't Fox's worst offense, but every time they do this, someone comes and tells them that they are totally wrong. Then their response is essentialy the equivalent to pluging their ears and going "Lalalalala".

OK, even if a parent does not understand the game rating system, and the store clerk does not ask the parent if it is ok for them to have this, THE GAME IS CALLED BULLETSTORM, I mean seriously, what kind of parent is going to let their kid have that game, based just off of that title.

Violence has been around since even before man has. It's "Cause" is still a mystery
Species 1: Hi! Would you like to be friends and pick some flowers with me?
Species 2: RAWR! HULK SMASH!

One of these two species will continue procreating and expanding while the other will not. Can you tell which it is?[/quote] Clearly the first species because it picked flowers and built up an immunity to the toxin in them. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

I do agree with some things in violent video games leaving an impression on much younger minds than intended by the game's rating. I also agree that games such as this should not be played by minors... unless their parents honestly think they're mature enough.

I started playing MA15+ games before I was 15, and it really hasn't influenced me. But, were I much younger, it definitely could have.

The blatant ignorance of those facts, however, sends the message that Fox News are a hopeless group, and so if someone knows these facts, I doubt they'll take Fox seriously.

Because, let's face it. A kid playing a violent game? At the end of the day, it's the parent's choice.

ATTENTION TO ALL PARENTS!!!

Make sure you look at the ratings on video games! If it's T or M, DO NOT BUY IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN, NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY WANT IT!! If you give in, only you are to blame for what happens to your child, if he gets "violent" from playing video games.

My local Gamestop always asks for ID and makes sure that the parents are aware of the ratings. If your store doesn't enforce it, complain to the store's manager or write a letter to the CEO. It needs to get out there that the games are not the fault of the child's reaction, it is the parents fault for not keeping tabs on your child.

Sorry had to get that off my chest. Fox is an idiot. Thank you.

Fox news is a joke, I seriously get pissed every time I see the damn channel still exists. I mean, its people like Fox (not just the republican side I mean MSNBC and CNN are guilty too) that have completely destroyed any illusion of the journalist in my eyes.

This is why I switched my major from Journalism to Interactive Digital Media. At least when I make fiction and put it out for the world to see it won't be because I'm trying to hide the facts or that I'm waaay to lazy to do any fact checking, it will be because I totally made it up, oh wait I guess that is still the same thing.

Also you ever notice that journalist in tv shows and movie that is dedicated to showing the facts to the public, its a myth because in reality they get bought off and become talk show hosts.

Well, people who say that associating guest speakers' comments as opinions of the news agency is wrong are completely correct. However, Movie Bob made a video a while ago that summed it up quite nicely: fair play is stupid. It can be outright dangerous at times. If something is downright fallacious and you do not describe it as such, even give it airtime and exposure, you are not doing your job right. A news agency is supposed to inform, not place everything on a simulated balance and give validity to something that's false just to appease some interest group. That's why agree that even though FOX didn't itself state "bulletstorm=rape" it is endorsing that kind of backwards thinking by not decrying the falseness of what people say. Whoever is anchoring that show is moronic and guilty of the worst kind of "journalism" available.
Going back a couple hours, but I just noticed this.

Yes, the rape claim is fairly ridiculous, but its a website article so the author wants it to be viewed. But in general terms, the question of whether a game like Bulletstorm damages young children and makes them more prone to be violent is not worth dismissing straight out. It is a debate that should be held. Now, like most people on this website, I don't think games cause that kind of harm, but its not so obvious that any debate on the subject should be ridiculed

"Violent videogames like Bulletstorm have the potential to send the message that violence and insults with sexual innuendos are the way to handle disputes and problems." And miniguns. Let's not forget about miniguns. Can't settle a dispute without a minigun.

At this point are they even worth the response? I mean what do we expect from fox news? Eventually they will have to learn this is not cute, edgy, or what ever they think they are accomplishing by doing this. Eventually everyone will get tired of this and stop feeding this spectacle.

I would love to see Bulletstorm pull a Dead Space and release a marketing campaign called:

"Fox News hates Bulletstorm."

Well that made my day. Fox is one of the worst in sensationalize news stories, but this is the stuff the Daily Show makes its living off of. If you're going to try and corilate video games and rape, at leat do it with Raplay.

But am I the only one thinking manufacted controversy. Think of all the free publicity this game's getting right now because of this stupidity.
