Just because I don't agree with such a disreputable news group from having such a large audience, doesn't mean I agree with such violent video games having a large audience. There are so many other things we could use game engines for apart from depiction of guns and boobs.
Actually, the producer is a woman who went out of her way to make sure that the female character only has average boobs, and that her boobs are fully covered like all the time.
That's not my point.
I'm going to give up on this thread now because I was taking my idea seriously. Thanks alot Title for preemptively removing all subtext of how strong arguments could be on this Thread.

And Rock Paper Shotgun has gone and dissected [http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/09/will-bulletstorm-murder-your-children-no/#comment-617335] the Fox News report for your viewing pleasure. I really have nothing to add to that.

Fox news is bout as credible as CNN anymore. Both are goofy circus side shows with no real news reporter...

This kind of knee jerk reaction to video games is not exclusive to Fox, but it makes me mad every time they do this kind of thing since they are one of the few news outlet that I have any respect for, seeing as most of the other news channels are part of the NBC family and if you think those are real, balanced journalism than you are either Naïve or a super liberal leftist

It's refering to this, which is Bill O'Reilly proving God exists.
That is perhaps the most devastating clip I've ever seen.

I've seen O'Reilly a few times, and while he is obviously an idiot, the sheer scale of the self-deception on display here is astonishing.

This clip may serve as evidence in deciding to wipe out all of humanity. Good job Bulletstorm comes out soon then right?
Greatest. Troll. Ever. I've never watched him before, I would swear he's an actor.

I've been waiting with BATED BREATH for Fox to get their hands on Bulletstorm.

They did not disappoint. ;D
Indeed. I was starting to ask myself if they were begining to be less effective at making shit up. I am not disapointed either.

Ok. Yes, Fox News has a bias. But this escapist article was the probably the most dishonest and disgusting I've ever read on this site. I feel that he only read the first half of the article; I was expecting to click through the link and find an alarmist piece of nonsense. Instead, what I found was actually a fairly balanced argument. Yes, the lady who said violent videogames promote rape is wacky, but here's the other side (I'm quoting this DIRECTLY from the Fox News article):

Video game advocates say the existing warning system works fine: Parents are responsible for deciding whether their kids can play games, not the government. Epic, the game developer, did not respond to FoxNews.com's requests. But game publisher Electronic Arts released the following statement: "Bulletstorm has been given an "M" rating by the ESRB, and we have adhered to all their guidelines in regards to the marketing and promotion of Bulletstorm."

More important, defenders argue that games with excessive violence and sexual content simply don't sell well.

"Games without sufficient quality of gameplay -- games that include highly objectionable violent or sexual content -- often pump up the level of this kind of content to gain media attention. This tactic typically fails, as can be seen in the poor sales performance of titles such as BMX XXX and Postal,? said Billy Pidgeon, a video game analyst with M2 Research.

The most common response is that, in the U.S., game makers have the right to produce violent content. If the government restricts games they would have to further restrict all media."

That's a lot of space given to the other side. And Fox never claimed the games caused rape. That was the wacky lady. Who here actually read the article before bashing Fox News? I'm sickening by this bias against Fox News. You want to show that Fox is biased? Then DON'T MAKE UP THIS KIND OF NONSENSE.

it's a good thing no one in america takes fox news seriously. it's a good thing this doesnt have any chance of creating new anti-game laws. it's a good thing we all live in a sane and pleasant world where people report things based on their own common sense and logical thinking and people avoid scaremongering.

Fox News is why video games will never be respected in America. Even though we get some interesting rants about the industry here in the UK it isn't even a millisecond compared to the wank Fox spews in the states... Its disgusting that this kind of hatred of the unknown has become the bedrock of modern society.

This is why I don't watch TV, if I believed even half of it i'd be afraid to leave my fucking house...

No. Fucking. Way. How can people be saying this? I mean, yes. Playing an overly graphic and violent scene could be damaging to young and undeveloped minds. I'm talking like, 10 or so here. Also, you can be punished for selling games to those below their rating (Fines). And if you're a parent, and you're buying your child a product that you don't think they're mature enough (something which you can tell with -ease-) to handle, you're incredibly stupid and have no-one to blame but yourself. Also, how on earth do Fox back up their claims?! Seriously?!

So bulletstorm causes rape while a lot of the VERY SEXUAL films and books out there do not? Okay, that makes sense. I suppose if the rape levels don't increase after bulletstorm is released FOX will make an apology? What's that? That isn't a very good story and makes FOX look like liars and idiots? NO WAI :O
