"That's like saying, "'Gee, I loved crack so much, I went to Colombia and started my own business and now I'm rich.'"
"Gee, I loved writing so much, I wrote a best seller and now I am rich.".
That argument can be said about anything, it's practically void. Some people become video game programmers and testers because it is a rapidly expanding industry with more and more jobs becoming availale by the day, offering good salaries and lots of hours. Then there are some who just love to program.
Video game addiction is becoming more and more recognized as a social problem, mostly for young men under the age of 30 with low self-esteem. There are even addiction clinics all over the world for guys who need help.
And yet there are no addiction clinics for people who spend every waking second in a pew at their local church, yet society doesn't seem to label them as over obsessive
Video game obsession is a serious illness in this country that many people recognize.
Video games and other electronics are doing bad things to kids' brains.
BECAUSE MY CAPS LOCK IS LOUD
Obsession with video game obsession is also another major issue. People who spend all of their time rallying against video games yet all they can contribute to society is a half-baked faux article about video games are as much of a cancer to society as video games themselves.
And what about Brain Age, or other things which exist to help sharpen your mind? What about puzzle games like the Professor Layton games which require you to critically think to solve puzzles?
All you have to do is ask any teacher about his or her students' critical thinking skills these days and you will hear a TORRENT of horror stories about kids who have lost the power to think.
Have you ever considered that maybe children are incapable of sentient thought is because parents don't have the ability to turn off their child's game and make them study.
"Oh no, my child is playing Mario Kart and I am so helpless and unable to stop them."
Where do you think that's coming from? Right. TV, computers and video games.
How about bad parenting?
Maybe, if Albert Einstein had only been able to play video games when he was a youth, maybe he would have come up with that Unified Theory that all physicists hope to find instead of merely the Theory of Relativity.
You do know who Einstein is, right? The dude with the hair.
No, I have no idea who Albert Eistien is because I just so happened to touch a Game Boy Color at one point in my life.
