I also love the elasticity of the "political" category. Conservative twats loved to decry as "political" any reference to human rights, any criticism of a fiction's moral values, any reaction to a societal tragedy, all while qualifying their xenophobic or conspiracy rambling as apolitical common sense. And when there's a value to it, well, suddenly, it's all "hey, please defend my so political views"...
