The person who posted that has some experience with being punished in various ways for his political advocacy, or having his videos deleted by TikTok after changes to their guidelines that for some strange reason had the effect of suppressing coverage of Gaza.
An experienced troll is not a stronger source of information than a fresh one.

If might makes right is human's moral code, we may as well still be cavemen.
We aren’t that different from cavemen biologically speaking. We just have better sticks and stones.

And part of that technology is social.

Including the understanding that brutalising everyone we disagree with into submission is a suboptimal organising principle for a successful and happy society.

There is no world society as there is no police for such a society.

Plus even morally which I detest this logic since life/society/humanity based institutions(AKA most of the world) hasn't treat me fairly as someone with my conditions will have worse life outcomes than neurotypicals so I don't want to treat it fairly.
Ah. That explains a lot.

If might makes right is human's moral code, we may as well still be cavemen.
Cavemen are unduly criticised, I feel, there's plenty of evidence they looked after each other, a stable group being the best way to survive in a hostile world, after all.

So I personally like the Iran Deal, but it pissed off half of Washington, their logic is why do you basically have to paid the Iranians to do what 100+ countries who have signed the Nuclear non-proliferation act, AND put up with their proxies. That's not even mentioning Israel, and the Saudis hating it/our allies in the region not agreeing behind closed doors. Not to say I agree with than Senator Schumer, and the republicans but that was their logic.
Because it was less about paying Iran and more about lifting sanctions, integrating Iran into global supply chains and generally into global exchanges and actually treating Iran like all those other 100+ countries and not like some US arch enemy.

But we can't have nice things.

There is no world society as there is no police for such a society.
Yes, with the currently utterly defanged UN there is nothing like that on the horizon.

No I disagree, the UN is good... for middle size powers, but if it's so good for them they should have forced the UNSC to disband vs deal with the double standard that will always put their countries at a disadvantage even with the sovereignty laws.

I recall a nature documentary I once saw on primates. What they said was that the bigger the brain of the primate the bigger the flock that they live in.

The memes about this have been glorious. I've never actually reached the Spanish(?) section of this song before, I wonder if the usual suspects are up in arms about that too.

Anyway, I guess this could belong in the woke world thread, but I randomly encountered a reddit post from a vegan. Apparently, the pro-AI crowd has taken to defending AI by saying that meat creates more carbon emissions than AI (by comparing a handful of GPT prompts to like a single serving of beef lmao). The anti-AI crowd fired back with "Um, people need food". What did the vegans say? "Stop making excuses for eating meat".

That made me check out the r/vegan subreddit, and hooo boy was I not prepared for the kind of shit they post on there. I think attitudes towards veganism have improved over the years, it's become unfunny to make vegan jokes. But the way people on that sub talk sounds straight out of South Park. I guess that's what echo chambers do to people.

Vegans are a bit like Linux tragics in that they’re their own worst enemy when it comes to convincing people to come around to their position.

My analysis of the comment section can be sum up as the far-left wing hate Israel because they are aligned with anyone who is both brown, and hates America. The far right doesn't like liberals jews who say write anti-white and anti-republican party books and are just are socially liberal and exist since that goes against far right interests. The Israelis have to be liberal since that means they are open mind which means they are innovative to survive colonization efforts in the middle east against the local population.

That said the the comment section, and perhaps OP needs to touch grass.

Ah, the non-sequitur deflection. Classic!

I'm just glad you've finally acknowledged that covering one's sneezes and distancing oneself actually do reduce transmission. All it took was for you to forget what you were arguing (again)!
Nah, just waiting for you to admit you were wrong from almost 4 months ago.

You'll be waiting a long time, since you've provided nothing new on that question.

But on the question we were actually discussing now-- whether distancing and covering one's sneezes can limit transmission-- you've finally joined the rest of us in reality! Congratulations! 🥳

Something genuinely funny (instead of the usual depressing)...

During the elections over here in the Netherlands a woman ran campaign for the biggest right-wing party in Rotterdam (Leefbaar Rotterdam) and got a seat. But not much later it was discovered she ran with an A.I. doctored photo of herself.

AA1ZOvNZ.jpg

Reichman herself claims she simply wanted to up the resolution, that she looks young for her age, and that she looks different now because of medicine usage. Leefbaar Rotterdam isn't even buying it and kicked her out of the party, though they apparently can't force her to give up her seat.

Also, she seemingly doesn't even life in the district that she was running in.

This is an interesting point.

I think, from an evolutionary point of view intelligence used to be most heavily associated with tool use: animals getting smarter across generations to better manipulate their environment. More recently, I think, it's increasingly been associated with complex social interactions: animals getting smarter across generations to have better communities.
