Gabe Newell: Three "Big Announcements" From Valve in Next Year

I would love headcrab game! instead of viechel's you get people, and power ups turn you into a poison ect.

12 Months × Valve Time = 2.5 years or so.

They will make a shooter because they always do, but they have made Alien Swarm and that's a Top-View Shooter. With this engine they might be able to make an RTS or an Arena Shooter.

They have had Aliens, Old Western, Zombies... the next ones will be... an RTS called Population! Where you may choose which faction you will buy like it's a Pokémon or Starcraft 2 game! The factions will be Pirate, Ninja or Spartans.

But that's just a hunch.

Announcement 3: Left for Dead 3 will be out in two months. And look, it has a 3 in the title to go along with announcement number 3. Ha ha.

Seriously though, if Episode 3 isn't SOMEWHERE in these things (and if L4D3 is announced before that), then I quit. Good-bye Valve if this turns out to be the case.

I would say "one of these must be an Episode 3 release date", but I thought that last time and it turned out to be the fact that Portal 2 was coming to the PS3... which I couldn't possibly care less about. So this time I won't hold my breath.

Not content with just announcing things about games, Valve are now obsessed with announcing the fact that they will be announcing things about games at some point in the future. There's only so much I can take before I switch off entirely from all Valve-related news save for actual game releases.

Left4Dead 3 sounds likely. Maybe they'll move out of the US, to somewhere like, idk, Britain or France. I would love to fight off zombies climbing up the Eiffel Tower.

Eh, it'll happen when it'll happen. What I'm mainly afraid is that VALVe is just going to take so damn long that people are just going to stop caring and VALVe will just be in the dust until they finally release a game and start picking back up again. Kind of like id.
