I'm gunna have to go with a game that hasn't even been released yet. Judging by the e3 gameplay of modern warfare 2, the character you will play in the campaign is "Roach".... I... I just....what?.....I mean, soap is awesome, but ...roach....?

Not every game character can have a cool name like Jack Cayman, or Gordon Freeman. Sometimes characters have to suffer with having a really stupid monicker. Which character has the worst name?

My vote goes to Cao Pi from Dynasty Warriors. I need not explain further.

I thought Solid Snake was a stupid name, and then I heard there was a character called Liquid Snake. Maybe it all makes sense in context but having not played the game, a massive WTF from me.

(Also I am incapable of seeing or hearing the name Master Chief without my mind going straight to Masterchef, but that's probably just me. It may be a military rank but it's still a fairly goofy-sounding one.)

It is true that there are lots of stupid Final Fantasy names. I think Angeal was my favourite - it's just so ugly! At least Cloud and Genesis were real words. And it looks like a cross between angel and congeal, which is hilariously appropriate...
