Evolution: The World of Sacred Device

Fucking Eugene

I can't fucking beat him. I even went to level freaking 80 to the point where the regular bosses are laughable and he's still a goddamn level 82. What the hell?!

Can he help me, captcha? Can he?

Lets see...

Dark Souls for one. Tomb of the Giants can go drown in a pool of its own urine before I can be bothered trying to play through it ever again.

Mind Jack. After seeing everyone say that it was bad, I decided to give it a go for laughs. Worst mistake of my entire life.

The Old Republic. I call bullshit on this one. How can it be that I can kill something four levels higher than me with ease, but as soon as it becomes five levels higher than me the game decides I need to grind more to continue and just makes every enemy dodge my attacks?
My Inquisitor shall never know what being level 25 feels like. Good job Tatooine.

And I think that's it.

I got through most of Mega Man 2 thanks to the power of Metal Man but once I got to the Wily stages I pretty lost any desire. The one boss where you have to use the stupid crash missiles in the just right way or else you run out of missiles and have to go back through the level past spikes and air man platforms. No, just no. Bad game design, bad!

X3, if you don't want me to play your game, then I won't. You win game. I shouldn't have to go through a six week learning course to learn how to play it.
As guy who invested 400H + into x3 terran conflict I suggest you give it another shot . it?s not THAT difficult it?s just the interface can be a bit confusing .

I'd like to, and I might eventually, but when I can't get past the tutorial something is wrong.

Tales of Symphonia... the game that taught me always to make multiple saves. My last and only save for this game is in the cave where you fight the final boss. Once in the cave, you can't get out... and according to every guide I've read, there's no way to survive the final boss fight without equipping a lot of dark-resistant items I never needed before that point (and can't buy inside the cave, of course). *facepalm* If I'm wrong about this, by the by, feel free to let me know; I no longer have access to a PS2 but I'd still like to beat the game someday as I enjoyed the characters pretty well.

Guitar Hero.

Up to now, I am unable to beat Cochise on Hard (or able to successfully do fast notes).

That's true as far as just getting to the boss, but if you're planning to explore that God forsaken place, it's a whole different story. All those booby traps and high falls. *cringe*

Nah, Sen's Fortress is where the real fun is for the uninitiated player. Swinging blades of instant death; floor traps; boulder traps; Mimic. So much fun!

... back to the question at hand. Croc defeated me. I was, mind, only a child back then. But, my gosh, that game was not age suitable -- one too many slippery ice platforms and I gave up.

EDIT: Enjoying the fact that this is slowly becoming a "hardest part of Dark Souls?" thread.

Yeah, I didn't really have a good build for O&S, though. I had a lightning battleaxe and light armor (I think it was just the gold armor that started with an X, or maybe I had basic pyromancer's robes, I don't remember). It's my favorite PvE build. Especially once you get the ring that lets you flip that you get from the rogue Forest Guardian. Four Kings on both regular and NG+ are chumps with that build, oddly enough.

Essentially, with that build, and some parrying practice, I beat every boss in the game with no difficulties, save for O&S. And since I'm a trophy whore (I play PS3 primarily), I had to play through again, killing Smough first so I could get Ornstein's gear. That was even worse, being NG+.

Quelaag had me really intimidated, but I beat her my first try (granted, it was an incredibly stressful and nearly failing first try). Nito wasn't too bad, so long as I timed my dodges well. The problem with him was the distance between him and the bonfire.

To be honest, the boss fight that gave me the most shear mind-numbing hate towards it was Bed of Chaos. Because it had nothing to do with your damage abilities. Even with my dodging skills coupled with the ring, I was forced to just bum rush to take out both weakpoints, die, then bum rush to take out his final weakpoint, dying multiple times trying to time the jump across the pit correctly.

But, yeah, the people who dislike the game are not playing it correctly (not trying to sound like an ass, but if the shoe fits...), it's not their cup of tea, or they chose a horrendous build to start out with.

To give an idea, my very first character was a thief. I could not get past Undead Burgh, no matter what I tried. I started a new character, the pyromancer. I never actually used pyromancy, but I chose that build for the early battleaxe and light armor. And, other than O&S, I had a challenging, but fun run through the game.

Granted, the set up sucks entirely at PvP, but it excels in most situations in PvE.

@Uikri: The leeches are a massive pain in the rear, I grant you. And the boulder pushing ogre things are infuriating, but I tend to go around them, myself. But that rooty place is pretty bad for long drops and you get those bug-eyed lizards that turn you to stone.

@MasterOfHisOwnDomain: Sen's Fortress is what forced me to learn the longbow. Those snakey-archers kept knocking me into those blades. But when you get enough hits on them - words can't describe the satisfaction of knocking them into the pit.

@auron200004: I might have to try using the Pyromancer against the Four Kings. Being primarily a melee kind of guy, they were a nightmare. But going balls-out aggressive in conjunction to knowing when they were about to attack saved by bacon. (Only just.)

Mind you, I had very little problems in defeating Ceaseles Discharge and without resorting to glitching which I was awfully proud of. It took me 20-30 minutes to slowly whittle his health away as he attacked with his big tentacle arm thing while I dodged and come back at it with Lightning Spear in hand. Damn good times - albeit bum clenching ones.

Though I shall be playing Dark Souls with all the classes just to see what it's like. Though I imagine the Thief will be horrendous to play as.

I'll just lump VVVVVV, IWBTG and Super Meat Boy's Dark world into one. Modern insane 2D platformers. I can still beat Battletoads NES, but those? Hell no.

Aside from that, there are a lot of games that require a whole lot of grinding that I just put down. Grinding isn't fun.

It didn't break me as such, but it did enrage me.
Tatooine in SWTOR.
Go do a quest, try to get back to town. But I can't, because every five feet I go I get attacked, throwing me off my speeder and onto the ground.

This happened so often it was enraging, so I ended up by just activating stealth and walking miles back to town because it was actually faster to do it that way.

The Last Remnant. Damn why must that game be so hard? I have to take on a frigging army and then take on a boss? Screw you game! Screw you! Halfway through disc 2 the game beat me. Then my save file got wiped.
I'm hoping you had the PC version and not the 360 version. Honestly the game starts off difficult but the more you play and understand that you can lock abilities on your unites the more consistent your team will be to providing support and doing damage.

Really sucks you lost your save file cause if you were halfway through disc 2 you were JUST at the end of the game. Only reason it took me a long time to beat the game was cause I kept doing all the side quest stuff. GOD DAMN there is A LOT in that game.
It was the 360 version, I don't have a good enough PC for PC games sadly. Yeah, there is so much to do in that game, I kept doing all the sidequest stuff too. I was at the end? god damnit! I will beat that game one day! I was devastated when I lost the file. I started a new game but I'm only on the end of disc 1.

Ohh god I feel sorry for you then. I HATED the game when I had to review it on the 360. Loading times were terrible and I can see how you have a lot of trouble because you have to pick from A LOT of generic units. Gave it a terrible review for a podcast I used to do. Picked up the PC version demo on Steam and all the changes literally fixed every complaint I had about the game. Honestly if you don't think you have the PC try the PC demo on Steam.

The PC version had double time combat(with the computer doing the QTE for more damage), and you can hire all the hero units and have them make up your entire party. Which means no generic soldiers at all.

But yeah if you stick to the main story with a little bit of side quest stuff to make your overall team stronger like getting better weapons the game is actually pretty short on Disc 2. Cause once you start dealing with the Destroyer the chase is on and everything else becomes side quest with varying rewards.
Gods I wish my laptop could run it! It sounds so much better. It's a good game, it's a shame that they gave a crappy 360 version. I keep trying to get the demo but each time I click on it on Steam it takes me to the main page of the game and then there is no demo option.

Shinobi 1 (MAME) I can get to the 2nd to last stage on 1 credit but gave up when the game ramps up in difficulty with the zombie ninjas.

Mars Matrix (MAME) spent 2 months trying to beat it in 1 credit I almost had it but burnt out at the last hurdle.

Way of the Samuri 3 (360) the last battle (village faction) where I have to storm the castle, Its way too long with no saves and the final boss is nigh impossible unless you master how to parry (I couldn't) or have a top weapon and lots of health items. The weekend sunk into trying to get past it would have been better spent if I restarted from the start of the game.

The Last Reminant (PC), sunk well over 100 hrs into it but the sidequests and filler left me totally burnt out

I think i got those two in a three pack along with The Jungle Book, must have been a gift because Disney never did much for me even as a kid. If i remember rightly werent they all platformers that ran on that top-of-the-range f*@k you engine? That special kind of gameplay which would demand a feat of near impossible skill (luck) only to drop you into a bottomless pit because the characters wouldnt jump properly unless you asked them real nice?

Not that im bitter.....

Im just off to eat some babies while i calm down.....

Not if you CHEAT. Seriously, one would think that they would learn their lesson when you annihilate their armies first 20 times.

Half Life 2. I just couldn't complete it. I felt guilty for years for my lack of skill and one day I went on Youtube to see how it ends. I haven't felt guilty since as the ending was a load of old shit.
