Yes, indeed, right, correct for Doom be a 3D Contra.AccursedTheory said:Hardly. Doom is just Contra in 3D. 3/10 at best.Dizchu said:Doom is an 11/10, matey.
I'm gonna throw some more votes on Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. Two expertly crafted worlds with hellish gameplay to go with the hellscape. Wish I still had my PS3 so I could play some Demon's, actually.
Yes! I wholeheartedly agree. Never before have I been so hyped and then disappointed in a game, about five to ten hours in when it finally hit me that it just wasn't going to be MGS. There were still a few hints of the old humour, but they could have done so much more.Arina Love said:MGS 5 betrays everything good about MGS, in my opinion. Instead of interesting locations/levels they put in a absolutely boring open word x2 full of emptiness. They absolutely destroyed cinematic feel and the story delivery MGS is known for. Got rid of awesome boss fights , new crazy characters and talkative Snake. I play and love MGS for a story, batsh*t crazy characters and it's cinematic feel. As a long time fan of the series i never wanted open world MGS...especially if it's done like MGS5.....bleh...
I will amend my previous list, as you are totally correct, and I was years with Diablo 2 and loved it.Wakey87 said:Diablo 2 and UT99
That is all.
What was so terrible about ending?Dizchu said:I dunno, SS2 is my second favourite game of all time (behind Doom) but its flaws such as the terrible ending detract from the experience for me. Like Beethoven's 9th Symphony ending on a bum note. Doesn't make the rest of the experience any less of a masterpiece but ughh, what a poor way to finish.blackrave said:System Shock 2- excellent game, even things that other call "flaws" I consider great addition to theme. For example "useless weapons" perfectly fit game world. BFG will kill all enemies around you AND you, organic weapons were designed against you (they only occasionally serve you), stasis tool is as useless as one would expect.
After the Command Deck of SS2 the game goes completely downhill.blackrave said:What was so terrible about ending?
Granted, it was cliffhanger that went nowhere (at least for now- I still hope one day to see SS3), but other than that it was good.
What's stopping anyone from changing their ratings? There are lots of games I'd no longer give a 10.Xsjadoblayde said:Not sure about the 10/10 rating, cannot be that absolute with any artistic medium. Hell, even my own opinion is fluid and changing quite often, i don't understand how anybody could just stick to one state of belief for the rest of their life.
I played it and quit it after hour. its just another cover based shooter. basically gears of war with sands. waste of time. they can make a shooter without wall cover.Skatalite said:I really like how many people are mentioning Spec Ops: The Line. Didn't expect that.

Nah, it's a ten point grading system, so if the game is 95% good or above it rounds up.Jute88 said:10/10 would mean perfect, as in, no flaws, right?
Ah, okay. I just work with a different scale.ObserverStatus said:Nah, it's a ten point grading system, so if the game is 95% good or above it rounds up.Jute88 said:10/10 would mean perfect, as in, no flaws, right?
You...but...people recommend that game for its story, not because it pushes the gameplay envelope. Having unique gameplay would actually be to the detriment of the game.B-Cell said:I played it and quit it after hour. its just another cover based shooter. basically gears of war with sands. waste of time. they can make a shooter without wall cover.Skatalite said:I really like how many people are mentioning Spec Ops: The Line.
