Can we disqualify anything that's less than 10 years old?
Why, when so many were made with relatively crappy graphics in the first place so they would fit into the capabilities of a 360? Many such games would benefit greatly from a graphical upgrade.
Because you'd have to be truly petty to want a graphical update of anything that's less than 10 years old.

Honestly, a lot of games from the past ten years have looked pretty shit. A great example is Skyrim, which in fact IS being re-released with updated graphics because the original release looked crap. It's not being released with updated ENOUGH graphics since even the re-release doesn't look as good as mods can make the original look, but it's something. Mass Effect is another, as is Dragon Age Origins. They looked okay for their day, but that day was most of a decade ago. Put next to modern games and it looks very rough indeed. So don't sneer just because people would like their games not to be rubbing sandpaper over their eyes.
I don't think any of those look all that bad really. If you want an Elder Scrolls game that needs a graphical face lift I'd go with Oblivion or Morrowind. Although Morrowind could do with a mechanical overhaul too.

I usually agree with your comments, but this one makes no sense to me at all. Why would it be petty? Who gets to choose which games are worth updating or not?

Maybe "petty" was the wrong choice of words. Regardless the point I'm trying to convey is that graphical advancements in the last 10 years have not warranted remasters of any games produced in the last 10 years.

...at least IMHO.

On principle, nothing. In practice, a lot of PS1-era games could use the face-lift. Unlike pixel-art, early 3D is now eye-cancer. So you know, MGS, Silent Hill, Medievil, Soul Reaver and so on.

I do agree with your holiness. There are only certain indie games I would like to see improved that have been released in the last 10 years. However, I understand other people get their entertainment differently, and are aware what would be an improvement to them. Yeah, it can seem petty, but they're being honest in what they'd like to have.

The KOTORs deserve, at the very least, a resolution bump, if not a flat out full overhaul.

Then... hmmm... let me dig through my Steam catalog...

Shit, I'm drawing a blank at the moment.
I can think of a few.

Final Fantasy IX. Maybe explain Tetra Master a little better, give the visuals a bit of a polish, add an optional boss or two.

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. What can I say, I would like to play an updated Lunar game. Xseed did well with the first one.

KOTOR, definitely.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Innocent Sin is available on PSN, so why not have one for the other?

Why not the Digital Devil Saga games as well? They wouldn't even need that much to be polished.

I truly think a remake of Shadow of the Colossus
But they already had one! They actually apologized for the PS2 version, which was still beautiful! Let 'em finish The Last Guardian first.

MediEvil was re-released as MediEvil Resurrection and Tom Baker actually did a bit of voice acting in it, as Death.

OT: Now, back to me. Since Final Fantasy 7 was already given its promised revamp, I can't ask for that...except for it to get its keister on-stage so's I can buy it. Let me, instead, transport myself back in time to my earlier gaming days and see what I can see...

So, there was this RPG on Playstation that I liked called Shadow Madness, which was pretty cool. That would do nicely, I think.

An updated Gradius/Nemesis/Salamander/etc. compilation with updated graphics in a revamped retro style with a number of classic Shmups as bonus content would work out.

The same could be said of an updated Psygnosis games compilation.

And while I love the more-recent Rampage games (recent being relative to the number of years since the last one), there was once a slip of the tongue I made when talking about the games. I wanna see Rampage 3D.

Finally, there is an RPG series that I would REALLY like to see revamped and updated, made in perhaps one game, but absolutely nothing left out that was in it: The Dot-Hack original series.

Skies of Arcadia.

I would happily play through that again with or without a graphics upgrade, but maaaan this game needs a HD remake/sequel.

For what it's worth, I agree with the 10-year cutoff. Then again, this is coming from someone who still considers the original Halo to be visually impressive. I guess that's what happens when you spend your childhood playing SNES and DOS games.

Star Fox: Assault... The Aparoid arc is still my favorite [playable] arc in the Star Fox universe and getting that Wii U/NX graphical "upscaling" would be bitchin' as fuck!

Other than that, maybe the OG Battletoads if it was just that and nothing else...

I grew up with 8-bit Z-80-based computers, but I still think there's plenty of games from the last ten years that could definitely do with a graphical upgrade. Some of them needed it right from release day, even.

The Elder Scrolls I: Arena

Blood

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (Admittedly not really because of graphics but to get it back into the limelight again and also so I can actually play it on newer consoles.)

Minecraft (And I mean, FULL OVERHAUL. As in no blockiness for starters. That's right. None. Now admittedly this actually will make it into a somewhat different game in the process but there's no reason why we can't have both. And I'm sure it wouldn't be THAT different at all anyway honestly.)

Super Smash Bros. 64

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (Purely for the multiplayer.)

Unreal Tournament '99

Thief 1/2
Deux Ex
System Shock 2
Outcast
Outlaws
Final Fantasy IX
Ultima IX (and change the rest of it into a real Ultima too, while they're at it)
Bunch of other, but a headache is shortcircuiting my brainything.

I'd say Metal Gear Solid, but the Twin Snakes remake still looks fine IMO.

First Mafia game. It's still a unique game to this day. Which is so weird when you think about it. We live in the era of open world games and crime dramas and one of the most interesting periods of 20th century America has only been explored once 15 years ago.
While that is true, the same can be said about pretty much any historical period anywhere in the world. The only ones that seemed to be used with any regularity are WWII for Western games and as for Eastern games ... I don't know, the Record of the Three Kingdoms? A shame really, but I suppose devs/publishers just prefer something recognizable and safe over something arguably more creative, but riskier.

Ha! Fair enough. Almost every time someone says it where I'm from it's the parody version.

The entire Quest for Glory series (gods I love them), The Krondor series, Armed & Dangerous (it's still a great game, but really needs a res boost and a new graphics engine), Jade Empire (it needs a sequel too) and Redneck Rampage.
