Well well well, u are lucky i was playing the pyro when i came across this. If i were playing the soldier u would be screwd.

Seriously, Runescape isn't a bad game... its just isn't very good. I wouldn't defened it.. but i wouldn't be the one wanting it to die.

Another 3rd to add to Mafia and KotOR.

I wouldn't defend it in anyway as much, but Just Cause - not one of my fav's by a fair bit but I'd defend the crap out of it against anyone who says an instantly reusable parachute is a stupid idea!

To be honest it was so bad but I had so much stupid fun playing I couldn't care less.

mmmmm I can see myself defending some of my favorite games, but not all. No matter how much fun a game is it's gonna have at least one serious flaw
Like assassin's creed. frickin loved it until I got about 3/4 through. It picked back up at the end but still...it felt like a chore at one point

Since when?

There are plenty of games without serious flaws, just little niggles. That's why they may get 96 % and there's a few gameplay issues (for example) that hold them back.

A serious flaw would often imply something potentially game breaking.

EDIT: Sorry for double post but I can't delete the other one and I didn't quote it and then it wouldn't let me so I wrote it again.

Final Fantasy VII (doesn't really need defending that often)
skate. (the original, I can see why people have issues with the second one)
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (seriously, who would mess with that though)
Tony Hawk's Underground (Underground 2 was complete crap though)

TIE Fighter, collectors edition. It's old, it's obsolete, it's not compatible with XP, it's the best game I've ever played.

Also Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. The series went way downhill afterwards but I have nothing but good memories of that game.

It's a waste of time to argue like that. Tastes are individual, so opinions shouldn't be taken seriously. How many times has something been considered uncool without a second look because someone else (i.e. critics) said it wasn't good?

The Space Empires series, hands down. The first game I started seriously playing ('twas still IV then, V was in development), the first community I was active in (longer than any other community since, with maaaybe one exception, but then only slightly), the first modding I did. And even without the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia, they're still damn good games with unparalleled ease and scope of modding.

Unreal Tournament (the ones that didn't feature vehicles)
Mirror's Edge
Outcast
Freelancer
Half-Life 1 & 2 (on a related note, I will also defend the Xen levels as if they were my own offspring)
NiGHTS into Dreams (not that it's a game that really needs that much defending)
World of Warcraft - I can understand why some people may not like it and that some players have gone off it, but I just can't stand the "me too" mentality of some of the WoW-haters.
Homeworld
The Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy (yes, all of them)
Mass Effect
GTA IV

Yeh, there quite a lot of games that I would leap to the defence of if the need arose.

The Conduit. Too many of Yahtzee's yes-men have taken his review of the game seriously, and a great game suffers for it.
