Yeah, but it's PART OF THEIR BOOK.SpectacularWebHead said:Dude, I'm an atheist, but it doesn't help us when you say stuff like that. Sure, THESE christian people are using religion to justify atrocity, but that does not mean that all religous people do. There are LGBT christians too, the actions of the few do not define the actions of the many, and by putting them all together in the same way doesn't make anyone willing to listen to you.
It's happened to me often enough for it to get a mention. I don't know how things are over there, but here, in Serbia, it's like that. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.Luke Gomez said:Do you live in West Hollywood or something? How often does this "showing off" actually happen to you? And it's even worse when they say they are proud of it as if trying to say I am inferior to them. That's what I meant.
Kissing and making out in public, I find nothing wrong with, except if it's purpose is just showing off your sexual orientation. Straight or gay.
The question is why would you feel inferior just because someone else is proud of who they are (be it gay , straight or bi).GameMaNiAC said:No, I meant when someone goes out of their way to show off their sexual orientation to other people. The rainbow is the official symbol of gay pride. Pretty much all gay people like "rainbows" in that sense.Jegsimmons said:1. that cookie does look awesome.
2. even if they were making it, the outrage i would show is how everyone is fucking pandering to gay people. Since when did all gay people like rainbows? Since when did they all like unicorns? Since when did all of them wish to get married in a comic book or married at all?
Its starting to piss me off because people are not trying to get us to accept homosexuality as a person choice he or she has the right to choose, they are trying to make us accept that the stereotype of gay people, who go to parades wearing this that make you ashamed of the human race and will actually hurt there cause because parents dont want to guys in leather and chains being exposed infront of young kids, which is a bullshit move because most gay people....do not act 'gay'. they act normal because: A; they have common sense and decency and B;they dont want to draw negative attention.
Its just fucking pandering at this point, and worst of all, its negative pandering only because they are all hopping on the bandwagon.
So I turned to the interwebs and it seems that Serbia has had issues with LGBT issues, even so far as to be considered an anti-gay culture. Hell you're medical textbooks still classify homosexuality as a disorder. You may think the problem is gay people "rubbing it in your face" but what you're saying is a throwback line for every person who has ever tried to rationalize their dislike of gay people.GameMaNiAC said:It's happened to me often enough for it to get a mention. You should look this stuff up before commenting.
I don't dislike gay people. I dislike making such a big deal out of it. That is simply it.Luke Gomez said:So I turned to the interwebs and it seems that Serbia has had issues with LGBT issues, even so far as to be considered an anti-gay culture. I'm sure Serbia overall is a lovely country, but maybe the problem is you.
That's just the thing. I don't want to go out into the street and yell that I'm proud of being straight. I see no point. I see no point in gay people doing it, either.D Moness said:snip
Probably because, hey, it is a big deal. Gay people have come a long way, but they still can't get married in most places. They're still casually denied thousands of rights that straight people take for granted. And substantial chunks of the population--including politicians--still insist that they're sick or evil or whatever (and therefore it's okay to fire them from their jobs and discriminate against them and beat them up and stuff).GameMaNiAC said:That's just the thing. If I do it I'll feel as if I'm discriminating people who are gay, and they'll probably feel like that as well.
And if they do it, it tends to sound like they try to alienate me. Why can't we just simply accept our sexuality and not make a big deal out of it?
