Well this site http://duke.a-13.net/ has a video I've never seen before and to be honest... even if the game looked like this - I would still buy it cos even back then it looked well good!

Compare those scenes to Deus Ex and it's astonishing just how much progress they had made back then; to convince us that they were actually doing something.

Oh, now I understand why I've seen a flying pig this morning. And it's on PS3? I might even buy it.

At this point, I think the best thing they could do is not release it. Sure it will sell to everyone who's ever heard of the term "video game" but from the look of the gameplay demos, nothing strikes me as too great. I don't think it could possibly stand up to the hype. were talking Starcraft 2 times Super Smash Bros Brawl to the power of peter Molyneux hype.

There were a couple of them actually, before the 3D game. I fondly remember playing 2 and 3 on our old DOS computer.

Am I the only one who is seriously unhappy with this news?

"Duke Nukem Forever" isn't just a game anymore - its a legend. This thing has transcended its intended medium and become a living metaphor for all pathetic overally-long development times and just plain old failure. Its a digital Spruce Goose. We love the Spruce Goose not because of its success, but because of what a massive ridiculous waste of money it was. You can't take that away from us! "Duke Nukem Forever" can only live on if its never completed. When the actual game comes out as a boring shooter game, nobody will care anymore. The legend will be murdered with bare-faced fact. We don't want fact. We don't want tangibility. The "Duke Nukem Forever" that lives so fondly in our hearts is the one that can never be completed - the eternal punchline.

So please, I ask you, DON'T finish the game.

Someone must've pointed this out, but isn't it kind of funny that this gets confirmed the same week that the Duke Nukem ZP was voted the best ZP that has been made up untill this point?
ITZ A CONSIPRACIE ALERT TEH PREZIDENTE! Must admit I noticed that too :p

I'm... Hm. I think Gearbox are onto a winner with this. I don't think any game has been marketed as much (for free) as Duke Nukem Forever.

Yahtzee was right: any other developer could actually make this happen in less time than 3D Realms. The question now is if they just farted it out or actual work has gone into it.
Well, it's Gearbox. Despite a lot of people not enjoying Borderlands a lot(I loved it, but whatever), there is no doubt that they put a lot of hard work into it, and its DLC. So considering the studio's past releases, I don't doubt it will be pretty well-polished.

I've gone past the point of caring about this game. Well good for it...I guess. But I will laugh forever if it doesn't come out within a year or so.

There are four or five of them. Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem 2 were side-scrolling platformers, and Duke Nukem 3D is the best-known one. Then there was a GBA Duke game, and Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project. That's all I know of, but 3D is definitely not the only one.
