It's not gambling! It's a SURPRISE MECHANIC!! /sApparently Assassins Creed Mirage got a Adult Only rating from the ESRP for gambling. So it is off to a great start!
I'm trying my best not to get excited by this. Unlike the AC thing I really do care if WW/TP and MP get rereleases.A Wind Waker and Metroid Prime Nintendo Direct is reportedly still coming next week | VGC

It's also showing "partial nudity" and "sexual themes", but that only got the new Thief game an "M" rating, so the gambling must be exceptionally egregious.Apparently Assassins Creed Mirage got a Adult Only rating from the ESRP for gambling. So it is off to a great start!
Huh. I could've sworn ESRB said any microtransaction and lootbox mechanics will fall under "In-game purchases", making them under the same umbrella as actual in-game purchases. This is a good news, as ESRB is finally acknowledging the problemApparently Assassins Creed Mirage got a Adult Only rating from the ESRP for gambling. So it is off to a great start!
Im sure they'll either go back to the direct purchases model of the last few AC games, then they'll work to figure out a different way to fuck people over.Huh. While this does raise my suspicion, I'm glad ESRB is doing the right thing here. And I'm sure Ubisoft will come up with some bullshit excuse on why "It's not gambling!"
The problem is ultimately them allowing it in games at all, assuming this gambling involves real money spent on in-game content. It’s not like an AO rating is going to stop kids from playing. Most parents will buy it anyways as a convenient babysitter. They won’t bother educating themselves on what it entails and how it’s harmful.Huh. What?So fucking late getting to Japan. I question what the point even is now.
Combat/Parkour looks pretty good in all the preview I saw, but story looks so bad and it really does seem they went the assassin creed open world route of "just look for marker on the map, don't bother exploring" rather than the BOTW route of "hey there's stuff everywhere, you gotta explore by yourself to find it", which is disappointing.
Forespoken is looking like a JRPG/Ubisoft game based on these previews.
Japan struggles with the concept of open world games almost on a fundamental level. So it's not really that surprising to be honest. Frankly it's fine so long as the marks on the map you visit have you do interesting things, or the core combat loop is fun.Combat/Parkour looks pretty good in all the preview I saw, but story looks so bad and it really does seem they went the assassin creed open world route of "just look for marker on the map, don't bother exploring" rather than the BOTW route of "hey there's stuff everywhere, you gotta explore by yourself to find it", which is disappointing.
They're referring to one of the new Assassin's Creed games coming out. What?
Oh...wait AC is going to Japan? Ugh Ghost of Tsushima already beat them to it, that's gonna be a wack move Ubisoft. They're referring to one of the new Assassin's Creed games coming out.
I guess you missed the news last week about these. It's a free for all on all AC games.Oh...wait AC is going to Japan? Ugh Ghost of Tsushima already beat them to it, that's gonna be a wack move Ubisoft.
We got not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Assassin's Creed games coming up
Hopefully we're ditching the gameplay of the recent games
An AC game that's ACTUALLY in Japan.
A mobile game set in China
An AC game that's.... horror-based? Strange direction but I'll take it!
It should be noted that Red and Hexe are both suppposedly part of Infinity, a platform that will feature multiple smaller game projects.
This is dumb, they shouldn't do this, it's gonna suck. Stop it Ubisoft.I guess you missed the news last week about these. It's a free for all on all AC games.
That's the problem: they never know when to stop. They'll take a brief "break", yet still have not learned a damn thing. This didn't surprise me in the slightest. Most of these titles are going to crash and burn in some fashion. I'll be somewhere else playing better games or Tsushima again at some point. This is dumb, they shouldn't do this, it's gonna suck. Here’s what I’m basically led to think is happening at Ubisoft when seeing all these new AC projects -That's the problem: they never know when to stop.
