Still not looking forward to it, and will actively avoid when I can. I am more upset at Sega, because they doing the same dumb shit whenever they get themselves out of a rut, only to go back in to that same rut, because they thought it was "fun".@BrawlMan , @hanselthecaretaker , @Fallen Soldier
It's likely that all these publishers talking about NFTs is just that: talk. Why? To make the shareholders happy, because they've heard that NFTs are the big new buzzword moneymaker tech thingy. And since video games are tech, those shareholders obviously want publishers to make stonks go up with the big new buzzword moneymaker thingy. At least for now, until they figure out how to actually implement it i.e. how to ensure most of the money flows to them. Because you know how they do.
I'm not looking forward to it either, because I have a feeling a lot of people will see the "play to earn" thing and get suckered into thinking they'll actually be able to turn a profit from it, but I'm willing to bet the odds of that will either real low unless you grind like crazy and get lucky, or you facilitate things a little by, i don't know, buying mtx that improve your droprate or something like that.Still not looking forward to it, and will actively avoid when I can. What does Marvel's Avengers Spider Man DLC have in common with a new mother's period?Speaking of Avengers that Spider guy is finally coming

It always disappoints me that Final Fantasy VII gets all the spin-offs, remakes and expansions when Final Fantasy VI was both a superior game and told a more meaningful, cohesive story. As much as I like Final Fantasy VII the entire last act after you pick up Vincent is a mess and I honestly dont even remember the ending nor care to as Sephiroth mere existence as a character annoys me. I feel like Final Fantasy VII rides hard on perfectly timed nostalgia.Proof that I don't like EVERYTHING related to Final Fantasy 7, I hate this https://www.destructoid.com/final-fantasy-vii-the-first-soldier-launches-november-17/
That's always been Final Fantasy 7's problem. Even back in the early 2000s, they were coasting on nostalgia and "Remember this character, and remember that character?". It's why I never bothered with any of the spin-off games and I'm glad.I feel like Final Fantasy VII rides hard on perfectly timed nostalgia.

I dont think it is nostalgia at all. That's always been Final Fantasy 7's problem. Even back in the early 2000s, they were hosting on nostalgia and "remember this character and remember that character?". It's why I never bother with any of the spin-off games and I'm glad.
A a lot of it was nostalgia and being at the right place and right time. Let's be honest, Square marketed in the crap out of Final Fantasy 7 with the merch and all the spinoff during the early 2000s. So much, that even friends of mine that were hardcore fans of seven got sick and tired of it. Don't even get me started on Advent Children. The fact that they have not learned their lesson and are doing the same thing again, speak volumes. They haven't learned much from what they did back in early 2000sI dont think it is nostalgia at all.
FF6 is a great game undoubtedly. But the reason why FF7 gets all the praise is not because of some blinders or anything like that. It's because it came out at just the perfect time and took advantage of more people getting into gaming with the spread of the playstation system.
I just feel like more gamers were at the right age when FF7 dropped that it just clicked with people. And for a lot of people it's their first RPG ever and that will always solidify a game into people's hearts. FF6 was victim to being a tad too early in release, as well as the stupid marketing decisions that led Square to calling it FF3 in the US.
FF7 also has a greater impact because at the time it was GRAPHICS!
I don't know a lot of shit came together and FF7 got extremely lucky to release when it did and how it did. And because it was so popular, even though FF6 might be a better overall came, they are going to build upon the one that was the most popular.
Crisis Core was dope AF though.A a lot of it was nostalgia and being at the right place and right time. There's already that crypto currency Pokemon ripoff game. I've heard stories of people quitting their actual jobs to go full time on it.I'm not looking forward to it either, because I have a feeling a lot of people will see the "play to earn" thing and get suckered into thinking they'll actually be able to turn a profit from it, but I'm willing to bet the odds of that will either real low unless you grind like crazy and get lucky, or you facilitate things a little by, i don't know, buying mtx that improve your droprate or something like that.
For you. I have no problem with that, but there are many others that are the opposite opinion one of the being Max Dood. I never cared for that spin-off game in the first place, cuz I was interested in a ton of other stuff.Crisis Core was dope AF though.
Would you rather see your preferred game get whored out like this though, or for it to remain untainted in its classic relative obscurity? It always disappoints me that Final Fantasy VII gets all the spin-offs, remakes and expansions when Final Fantasy VI was both a superior game and told a more meaningful, cohesive story. They're idiots. Some that's going to happen at some point, and they been afraid to God or whatever deity they believe in, and hope they put all the money they gained into something useful. There's already that crypto currency Pokemon ripoff game. The latter if given the option. The Remake is good and all, but that does not excuse splitting it into two parts, each part is going to be 60 plus dollars (even more so than getting the completed question), and making the DLC on next-gen hardware only and PC. They knew what they were doing is bull crap.Would you rather see your preferred game get whored out like this though, or for it to remain untainted in its classic relative obscurity?
Honestly, it's more of impoverished people getting hopeful from this new technology that they don't quite understand. The way it works (over here at least) is rich dudes fork over the capital to purchase these crypto creatures and rent them out to people who play the game for them, or something. Needless to say, the owners recoup their investments quite quickly and wouldn't really be affected if the whole thing crashes. Those renting however, definitely very vulnerable. They're idiots. Yeh, that's the thing with these NFTs: the only people actually guaranteed to make a profit are the people issuing the NFTs in the first place.Honestly, it's more of impoverished people getting hopeful from this new technology that they don't quite understand.
