Guess the Helldivers came and democratized the shit out of it.

Square should probably get of that live service GaaS train tho, it's not working out for them.
Suck it Square! That depends on the president on the company, and if he actually bothered to stop and think for a minute.

Year of Shadow.

Welp, now we know how Motive was able to start working on the next BF game and Iron Man game.

Fuck me, this really sucks. I would've taken DS2R over Battlefield. Fuck you EA for having unrealistic sale figures

Bullshit! Dead Space Remake sold great. What was EA expecting, over 25 million copies sold? Get the overly high expectations out of your heads you assholes!

EDIT: I am glad the original Dead Space 2 is still available and I have a copy, but it sucks history is repeating itself and Motive is not moving on to something more worthwhile, aside from possibly that Iron Man game.

It's mindbogling that a game with cosmetic dlc 1.5 times what the base game costs is not an absolute winner
And that's for just the one character. It's $44.99 to unlock sets for EACH of I think six base characters.

I forgot EA made games beyond Sports titles filled with MTX nonsense.
Apparently EA is coming out now saying production never even started. I don't believe them.

This is the problem with gaming journalism and even modern dev culture in the AAA-space today. It's finger pointing.

One could reasonably believe either story, whether it's a bitter Dev who doesn't want to work on Battlefield. Or it's EA lying.

The thing to consider is that most publishers do not comment on rumors or accusations unless it's provably false or serious enough that a statement is warranted. This is neither of those things, so the fact that EA made a response to this leads more credibility to them being correct in this aspect. Also keep in mind that shareholders do not like companies cancelling game development without good reason.

Additionally if Motive is making an Iron Man game, and is also being shifted to work on Battlefield, there was likely no development or even pre-development happening on a Dead Space 2 Remake especially this soon after the first game and not with a studio of Motive's size.

I hate to say this because I hate EA, but I think they are correct in this regard and that developer is just trying to start bullshit.

Yet the shareholders have no problem with EA lying to people and the courts about their lootboxes in all of those sports games. And yet had no issues telling shareholders removing lootboxes in the Battlefront remakes wouldn't hurt their bottom line, yet make these excuses to people calling them out on their bullshit.

It's a waste of time in the first place for BF 2042. Iron Man I can understand, but 2042 is a lost cause.

At this point, I'm going wait until the dust settles, but I have no faith in EA being truthful since they have lied several times before.

Fair enough, but I think the DS2R may have been early stage of development, or at least EA was considering it. Because they did send out surveys asking if people wanted to see DS2R last year

Also, on the subject of EA
Of course, anyone still willingly giving EA their money only have themselves to blame.
Paying the base price for a game should be okay. Expansion-level dlcs are also fine. But I think the line is drawn if people want to spend more beyond that. Cosmetics, MTX, premium currencies, etc. Honestly, the subscription-based gaming services aren't that bad, but EA Play's library is real shit and limited.

You know what's funny? Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $17/mo includes other games AND EA Play. And EA wants to increase its subscription to the same price at $17.00/mo? WTF are they smoking?

Remember when that shithead from Ubisoft said get comfortable not owning games?
Their games or everybody else that's not AAA or Capcom? I am still seeing a bunch of smaller games getting physical releases, Ubisoft!

How about get comfortable with no one buying your games? Shove that $40 price hike up your ass

Does Ubisoft not understand how far the Star Wars... well, star has fallen in recent history? $130 isn't a price that even Call of Duty can command anymore.

I think you've been on the Internet too much, and the public at large still loves Star Wars.

So? I lot of people are getting fatigued too with Disney constantly milking it out or some greedy publisher making their product intentionally worse. Always online for single player? That rarely works out well and fuck this piece of shit practice. It helps no one, but the people at top.

Wario64's thing is posting about great gaming related deals. And he posted a pic of a dog. That's huge news... I think.

Or not. I'm doing a bit
