Mario games will always have the same basic plot, or will actually be cast down as the black sheep of the series.

Lookin right at Luigi's Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine, even though they still had kidnap formulas in them.

Let's examine something here. Peach is a Human looking girl. She is princess of people who look like mushrooms. And even though there are significant forces on her side, (see the old mario rpg), the only people who can save her are plumbers from Brooklyn, who are Italian and beat their enemy's with their own body weight. And kill the final bosses because of conveniently places switches or obvious structural weaknesses.

Any new game in a genre is ripping off the most popular game in that genre.

Any game developed in an older style (ATB or Turn-Based RPGs and sidescrolling platformers, mostly) do not create more variety in the industry. Nor are they a good reminder of the industry's roots that help to keep perspective on some new mechanics (such as giant, empty worlds or complicated fight mechanics that play the game for you). Instead, they are nothing more than a lazy attempt to make a quick buck.

Sequels are only sequels in story-heavy games: platformers are always remakes.

If someone does not like a game, series, franchise, or genre, then it sucks. Furthermore, anything they do not like should be done away with. The actual fans will learn to like real games.

Any mechanic someone does not like is a gimmick...even if it is a core mechanic.

Casual gamers--and the games they play--are the worst things ever.

Realistic lighting cannot be done with current hardware. Logically, the solution should be to keep pushing towards photo-realism while using as little color variety as possible.

Any interesting art styles on the Nintendo Wii are done to cover up for its graphical inferiority. Somehow, this negates the fact that these games still look good.

If a series uses the same core mechanics as earlier installments, then it has not evolved at all. Extra modes, new core mechanics in addition to older ones, and improved/new engines are irrelevant.

The smaller a developer's influence in the industry, the more we should listen to him or her. The big names that have been doing this for decades have no idea what they are doing, and the independent artist is always right.

There's a curious phenomenon in which any game you play when you're age 8 will magically transform into something absolutely unbelievably incredibly unspeakably fantastic and nothing that's ever made in future will ever be able to top it.

pokemon is improving with every generation but even if the tenth generation could cure cancer people would say that it's worse then the first and/or the second generation.

That has a lot to do with the designs of the pokemon themselves. Whether or not storyline, characterization, game mechanics, etc have gotten better or not, the pokemon from generations 1&2 simply look like they had more thought put into them.

NO their have only been very few pokemons that look horrible plus every generation has an ugly pokemon:
1st: jinx
2nd: dunspurce
3rd: can't think of it from the top of my head
4th: can't think of it from the top of my head
5th: the wierd snowflake
it's just that after the second generation they went with a different art style that's why the third generation look weird and the 4th and 5th are meant to be more modern and the pokemons for the most part look pretty good, it's just they don't look like they used to but that's fine as the 3rd generation is in a more ditant region same with fourth and that the fifth generation is meant to be the america and other western countries (but mostly america) of the pokemon world.

Slight alteration; QTE's as they are abused suck; when done right, they're not so bad (for examples of them done right, see God of War and Redident Evil 4).

Indeed, sewer levels do suck.
Not always; the Wolverine game was actually quite a bit of fun. It wasn't great, by any means, but it was good, and even one good movie game kills the theory of "every movie game sucks." There are a few decent ones outside f it as well, but that ones the most notable in my mind.

Wrong on the spot. How much money Halo made has no causal relationship with the degree to which its popularity is justified. At all. The number of people that it got properly into gaming (buying consoles to play it) and the number of people who love it warrant its popularity. In the gaming community, "Being made by Nintendo/Being on the Wii" is a perfectly acceptable reason to not like a game. I don't like this fact, but it is what it is.

People will ***** about the lack of creativity in the gaming industry. Then, when a truly original, creative game comes out, barely any of these people will actually buy them.

Agreed with both of these. It's truly hypocritical when people complain about too many sequels/same-y games but always buy the next Halo/COD etc. and not something fresh.

The Wii is a fantastic system and by probably has the broadest appeal of any system in history... BUT THE GRAFIX R SUXORZ
