Thank God! Now I don't have to worry about accidentally stumbling upon any religious content while I browse the Escapist. For a minute there I was worried I may become irreversably brainwashed.
His Noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, shall protect you from all brainwashing.
Seriously, this seems like the most situational blocker ever - what are the chances of stumbling upon religious texts on the internet if you're not looking for them.
Also, does it block out the FSM? Or others like him?

Every time a piece of obvious satire is mentioned anywhere, I am always astounded by the number of people that take it seriously. You'd think I would have learned to expect it by now, but I never do. Anyways, it's reasonably clever and amusing so I give this a thumbs up. I hope no one actually makes an internet filter like this though. It'd be a huge waste of time and would completely ruin the joke.

REally? But if something violent happens that ISN"T related to religion, then it's fine?

Retarded.

Protecting children by REMOVING all religion from them.... that's pretty hilarious.

At least they're thinking outside the box.

Really? I don't believe it. I can't imagine anyone (that I know anyways) that would ever get such a thing.
Perhaps it's a scam? Maybe somewhere there's a couple of extremists sitting around a computer laughing manically going "Since they spend so much time with the devil(the internet) we're going to use it against them cause they refuse to believe! Ahahahaha!" Their relatives probably burned 'witches' in the old days.
Or maybe I'm just letting my imagination run wild...

Lol, a nice "in your face" for all the religious fanatics and their own little versions of web filtering. :p

This is a publicity stunt. It's a piece of satire, like the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Haha the christian right spends years trying to censor everything that disagrees with the bible, and somone made one that censors out the bible... that's just funny. This is like a big joke.

But if your wondering why somone might want god block consider this.

If I put a post on here claiming to think pokemon were real and that I'd devoted my life to finding Mew and seeking his wisdom. Now some people might just think i was being funny but I assure you at least a few people would hatefully badger me for being stupid and dilusional. And they would do so unchecked.

But if I did the same thing to anyone over thier established religion, I would be at risk of disciplinary action.

Still i don't believe in censorship and I would rather discuss my thoughts on religion openly with my children to try and protect them from my worries about it rather than just hide it.

If you want a functional godblock for children, then you have to teach them philosophy and critical thinking, not censor reading materials.

I'm sure this is a joke. A funny one, but a joke.

Though I have to say I'd be tempted if I had kids...

Heh, I lol'd when I read all that. Atheism at it's worst, or just a stupid joke, who knows?
Not that it really matters either way.

This sorta flies in the face of everything I believe in as a Skeptic and Secularist to say nothing of what I believe as a Libertarian and Freethinker and teaches entirely the wrong idea. Preventing someone from seeing "subversive" material and preventing them from making up their own mind on the subject is the same as forcing someone to consume said material, it's still forcing a world view.
