Ok, I haven't seen the first three Indy movies, but Crystal Skull was certainly below average. Killing characters is a good thing. It's surprising, it's emotional, leads to great character development (except the dead character). But either way, I probably won't see the next one. I do need to watch the first three sometime... I've been told by trusted friends that they are actually good.
Oh, and what is it with Ford hating all his characters? Honestly, it just isn't nice.
The first three are miles better than Crystal Skull. I recommend you give at least Raiders of The Lost Ark a shot.
Do you honestly believe that The Temple of Doom is miles in front of Crystal Skull? o_O

I can agree on the other two.. But but.. The Temple of Doom!?
The Temple of Doom at least had better potential. The thing that hurt it most was the annoying sidekicks. But it was still a good Indy film in my book. Crystal Skull didn't feel that much like Indy, with Shia LeDouche taking the spotlight.

But if Beouf is killed of we will side with the guy trying to take over the world. That aside i don't see how this fivth installment can be good.

Insider sources are suggesting that Harrison Ford thinks that his second most iconic character, archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones, should not survive a fifth Indy movie.
No!

Supposedly, Ford is keen that his character should pass his hat and whip on to a successor - likely to be the character of Mutt, portrayed by Shia LaBeouf
NO!

The next Indiana Jones movie is supposedly set in the Bermuda Triangle, with LeBeouf as the movie's star
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Nobody in Hollywood could seriously believe that Shia Lebouf could plausibly carry an Indie film. Their only hope would be to recast the role. Someone of the stature of Leonardo de Caprio, or Jake Gyllenhall might be able to manage it, but I'm yet to see a movie where Shia's best moment hasn't been miles behind Harrison Ford's worst moment on film.

Exactly. It would be JUST LIKE that series of Star Trek where all the characters except Wesley Crusher died, and so for the rest of the series it was just all Wesley Crusher every episode. Oh that's right. It never happened. Because it would have been utterly stupid.

Really, the original Indy trilogy isn't all that. It's awesome only in its cheesiness, and Crystal Skull really wasn't any different.

Nuked refrigerators are the new gigantic boulders.
I beg to differ sir. Temple of Doom was made of cheesy, but the Last Crusade, for example, wasn't. And even if they weren't always 100% dead serious gritty movies, they were still good.

Crystal Skull was shit though. For example, it made a fatal flaw in actually showing the goddamn alien. That and Shia LaBeouf.

I'm sorry, but I'm just so excited about getting Hitler's autograph. ;P

Alright, but as I said, it's not a gritty realistic movie, but I'm happy about that, that would have been forgettable. Take the old James Bonds for example, they're fun because they are silly.

Fact still stands that the old Indiana Jones movies are good (except for Temple of Doom, in my opinion), and that The Crystal Skull wasn't.

Nitpick: There are no facts in matters ruled by subjective opinion.

Sadly the Indiana Jones franchise isn't one I care enough about to discuss further. I think I'll stroll of and argue about my silly transforming superheroes now.

I remember reading about how people hated the killing off of Sherlock Holmes....
I can imagine the same happening here.

Hey, lets not generalize here. Most people don't want to rape a dead guy.

That's true, there are always exceptions to the rules.......

If you claim that then I submit that you, sir, have never seen the Star Wars Christmas Special.

Silly Escapist. There are only 3, and there will only ever be 3, Indy Movies. What's this about a 5th one? There wasn't even a fourth one.

Ok, in all seriousness:
Indy should have ended with the third movie. Crystal Skull was just stupid.Communists instead of Nazis? Fine, it's a more relevant threat given the time period. Aliens? Ok, weird stuff happens in the Indyverse. Surviving a nuke by hiding in a fridge? Eh, He's survived more unlikely scenarios. But Mutt. Fucking Mutt.

Lebouf is a HORRIBLE actor. He couldn't act when he was on the Disney Channel, He couldn't act in Holes, he couldn't act in Crystal Skull, and he definitely could not act in Transformers. Is Lucas trying to ruin all of his franchises before he kicks the bucket? Ford is right to want to kill off Indiana; hey, Indy, can you kill off your son while you're at it?

LeBeouf as the star? There goes my ticket purchase and respect for the franchise.
Am I the only person who actually LIKES LeBeouf? It's not his fault Transformers sucks so much.

I think he's a good actor from the other things he's done like Indiana Jones and Disturbia.

Am I the only one here that actually liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and doesn't mind Shia LaBeouf as an actor? He's certainly better than about 80% of the other people they could have cast.
Agreed on all counts. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was not a bad movie. It was just different from the others in tone and setting (50's sci-fi versus 30's action serials), which is not allowed in sequels. Plus the aliens looked pretty damn stupid.
