For movies and TV shows? Not at all. I don't see the point.

For games, though? At this point, I'm spoiled (just got meself a new 40" HD) so I can rarely play games in standard anymore.

I used to say HD doesn't matter, but after being spoiled by my 52 inch Plasma with 1080p, it bugs the hell out of me when games and movies aren't crystal clear.

Gotta have the HD man. Gotta have it. I only play games on PC really, and I have a 22" 1920X1080 monitor which makes 1080p stuff look perfect.

I have a PAL CRT TV. I also have a 1080p monitor. I wish I had the money for a top flight 1200 monitor but the TV ration 1080s are just so much cheaper. It is kind of annoying that i can't have two pages side by side on my monitor but I have learned to adapt. I don't think HD is too important but then again I have had HD on my PC for ever.

It's not very important to me at all. Up until 2 years ago I never owned anything HD, and I couldn't care less if it is or not. Right now I'm typing on a standard-definition monitor, while my brother is playing Gears on an HD monitor.
if an image is designed to be viewed in high def it's very important to me, if it's an old 8-bit game then who cares?
as long as i have enough screen area to see what i'm doing and enough pixels to view the content at it's designed resolution, then i don't care if someone invents a 123456x98761 screen because it simply won't benefit me, if that's what you're asking

i use a plain o'l 1900/1200 i don't do any of those high tech fancy ips 2k+ pixel panels

also, high def 50" screens with less pixels than my monitor amuse me, and the prices amuse me even more.

My Monitor screen is the closest thing I have to an HD display (1440x900), as for TVs, I still don't have an HD TV and honestly, I'm not in a hurry to get one, I'm ok playing my Wii with my good ol' Sony TV in 480p and I was ok playing with the 360 in 480p in that same TV.

CRT TV all the way for me. I like scanlines. I have a 32 inch trinitron and it displays 360 via RGB 480i as good as I need 360 games to look. And low res stuff looks good, unlike on an LCD

I've never seen anything HD despite my LCD being HD with my PS3 and 360 hooked up it looks like complete shite. My new laptop however is apparently HD but I can't say I prefer it over my PC's CRT screen :/

I always forget to take my glasses to the cinema, so quality increases aren't noticeable over the blur.

Also, its on so much larger a screen, it's difficult to notice the difference.

Also, is a cinema screen actually high def? Its a projection, no?

We are even moving to 4k resolution.
Also remember your glasses next time.

Fair enough, but I haven't been to an IMax Cinema, and from what I can see, that's where I'd see high resolution...

HD tv is important to me for HD gaming but I won't go so far as to buy Blu-ray, because I simply can't afford it.

Extremely important to me when playing games on my T.V. (Luckily I have a little bittie HDTV, so it wasn't extremely expensive.) It's not because I am a graphics whore or anything, it's really hard to read words on some games in SD. Other then that I would say screw HD and continue playing on SD.

HD is awesome, I love the amount of detail.

I love playing a video game in HD or watching a bluray, I can't even watch SDTV anymore. Unless of course I'm playing my PS2.

It doesn't have anything to do with graphics. It all about visual clarity.

The only issue i've had is that somethings look a little too clear in 1080p, movies/ts show wise.

I'm used to it now and don't really want to go back unless it's for playing non HD games. We have an extra 32 inch SDTV for that >.>

HD will probably mean more to me when I can afford to buy a decent TV. As for now, I can make do just fine with Xbox on an old TV, but PS3 is starting to bug me.

I have a standard tv and prefer it for gaming. I've dealt with too many friends' tvs that have issues with latency and video lag to want to game in HD on a tv.

PC on the other hand, well, ok, I still don't give a rat's ass.
