Very infrequently. And I'm running buckets of mods and all of the official plot-driven DLC...But none of the mods are "patch" styled. Project Nevada is my big one. I just LOVE me dem bionic eyes!

Well uh, since I stopped playing it because I didn't like it, it hasn't frozen on me since! Lucky me, right?

Honestly I have only had is crash a couple of times and that was due to me running other programs in the background. I guess I'm just lucky.

New Vegas only ever crashed on me three times. It was during one playthrough, when I tried to enter Camp McCarran's terminal through the front door.

I tried the back door, did my business, then tried the front door again a few times to discover that the bug had vanished.

Other than that, it was remarkably stable. I don't even remember any graphics glitches.

As someone who play's on 360 with it installed and current character is clocking in 120hr's it doesn't freeze on me too much. i personally limit my number of saves to 6 and have at always more than gig on my HD,also i notice the more i play it the xbox seems to get used to it and freezes even less.

It likes to crash in bursts, but usually about once or twice a session. Of course, I've modded it all to hell too, so that's not helping

For me, on PS3, it tends to freeze or become unplayably laggy an average of about 30 minutes after starting it up, although that can change if I'm playing through any of the DLC. Lag and freezing tends to be significantly more frequent in the outdoor areas of the Old World Blues and Lonesome Road DLCs (usually about 10 minutes of being outdoors does the trick), while Honest Hearts and Dead Money are actually downright stable. Certain areas of the vanilla game are also really bad offenders when it comes to performance, namely the Hidden Valley bunker, the Strip, and the Strip casinos. So it's pretty much an unplayable mess for me, which is a real shame since it's also one of the best games ever made.

If I can get it to actually get as far as loading my game, which can be two or three tries, it's ok. It may crash after a few hours, but that's once in a blue moon. Vanilla PC.

Have you tried exiting other programs before you start playing? Mine got a lot more stable once it wasn't fighting unnecessary programs for system resources. Fuck you iplayer.

Only crashed once as I recall, but I got insane amounts of lag at least once every half hour after I had played for a bit - just like with Skyrim.
*glares at the PS3*

Like all bethesda games maybe once or twice, though it only crashed on me after they released the big bug fixing patch, in fact after they released it I finally started encountering noticeable bugs in general.

Well, NV managed to crash enough to ultimately break my PS3, so I'm not sure how much more it would have done had I ever played it to the end.

Xbox 360 player here, and typically only after I've been playing it for at least four hours at a time.

Also, I don't think it's ever outright froze in the middle of me playing. Typically it only crashes in the form of a never-ending loading screen.

It froze a couple of times for me but that was always after several hours of playing it. I got the Ultimate Edition a little while ago and haven't had a problem with it. Xbox 360 by the way.

I've got the 360 version and my copy has never crashed. It's frozen a couple of times but that's probably due to me playing it for too long in one sitting.
Out of interest have you had it since launch? Mine used to be damn near unplayable with bugs and glitches but now it's fine and only freezes after (greatly) prolonged play.

For me, it freezes somewhere between 1-25 minutes after I load the game.
Some may call that unplayable, but I call it very annoying and an immersion killer.
But that was because of mods (obviously my system is the pc).

Before all that, it never froze but crashes after I play more then a few hours, and sometimes less then that.
I've just cut my situation out of your post.

It's also why I hate the game. Fallout 3 never crashed for me, whereas F:NV crashed every time I played it and more often than not, more than once. Each crash was a killjoy, but it was rare during my playthough if I ever got to the point of decent enjoyment because of the crashes. I tried everything to make them stop, none of it worked. Only the patch nearly a year after launch reduced the frequency of load failure.

I also had texture load failures, broken quests and dead-end conversations, not to mention the multitude of creatures and characters that fell through the floor or got stuck inside walls.

I played on Xbox 360 with the game installed to HDD. There was no corrupted data on the disk therefore no reason to crash other than shitty programming.

Fallout 3 worked like gem though, and the world was more involving in my opinion. By far the more superior game.

On the 360, hardly ever freezes. In fact, I would say never, but my little brother said it did freeze for him once.

Never crashes on my 360 copy, that was just the core game with the expansions downloaded. But my PS3 Game of the Year edition with all the content on the disk freezes hourly.
