Why do people simply not know what the definition of ?paedophilia? is anymore, and just make knee-jerk assumptions over anyone who may?ve gotten a hard-on over any female under the age of 16? All it means is primary sexual attraction to prepubescent children, between the ages of 0 and about 10/11. Basically, primary school children. Liking anime girls doesn?t make you any more of a paedophile than liking short real girls or adult women in schoolgirl outfits does.

That's a really good point actually. Personally, I have very different tastes in women in real life as opposed to fantasy women I may fancy in fiction. In fiction I prefer strong, independent women, almost dominatrix in personality/attitude. I don't like that extreme one bit in real life women. Not at all.

If a character is draw/characterised to be attractive, and you find them attractive, that means the artist/writer has done a good job in any medium. So no.

If you're older than 12 and still getting off on cartoon chicks than yes, there is a problem. Also a massive number of the anime characters drawn as "pretty" tend to have infantile features with their big eyes and narrow builds. Then you have the grossly mispositioned "sexy" characters. I hear real women can sometimes look nice too, but that might be a myth.

That's only the law in Australia, the law on cartoon pornography differs between countries.

I've worried about this too. I find myself attracted to all sorts of anime girls, including pretty much every Madoka Magica character (surprise, surprise). Then I think too myself "they're all still in middle school, you creep!" And then I feel really bad. It doesn't help that I'm an adult now, but I still look really young for my age, so girls who are about 16 will still flirt with me at work because they think I'm the same age as them. It's so not fair that I'm too old for all of the girls that are interested in me! But at the same time, it's not their fault for not knowing, because I do still look like a teenager. While anime girls are indeed drawn with some childlike features, it is NOT the features of someone that make them children. The fact that someone's body looks young doesn't have anything to do with how old it ACTUALLY is. If you had some method of reverse aging or something, if this was discovered and it was a means of immortality, I'm sure this would be much more apparent to the general populace than it is now.



As long as the character doesn't behave like a child and is not a child in the canons story, you have no reason to worry.



Pedophilia is wrong because kids aren't capable of consenting to sex, not because having sex with anyone who is kinda short and immature-looking is innately evil. It's wrong because you're taking advantage of people who aren't fully equipped to handle sexual situations and you're abusing them for your own gratification. This is impossible to occur by simple fantasy, especially so if the subject of it is a 2D character whose will is nonexistent thus can't be taken advantage of.

Season 2 had it's moments, but on the whole (especially then ending) it was a disappointment. Unless they make up for it with a good 3rd season I'd have preferred it end with Season 1.

On the topic of it having a good cast, Guy Kurosawa and November 11 are honorable mentions. I loved pretty much all of the characters from Season 1 though.

As far as I'm concerned, get attracted or masturbate to whatever the fuck you want - as long as it doesn't hurt anybody it is all fair game.

On the lawful side, it has always been rather dodgy. But if you get off cartoon children, you probably don't want to parade that about the place.

Also the whole anime characters look like children argument I find is full of bollocks. Even children don't have such proportionally huge fucking eyes. They barely resemble real human beings. So really, just get off it, some people like aliens. Someone earlier said that Misaki could be 13 for all they know - show me a 13 year old with eyes that fucking wide and a chin that fucking sharp.

Anime characters aren't real people, and every feature about them was a design decision by another person. You can't use the argument that they just "happen" to look a certain way or that's how their bodies developed, when it was a conscious choice on the part of the artist. That's what I find creepy and pervy about it, anyway.

My opinion: It is not necessarily wrong to be attracted to a character that is -by the artists- intentionally sexualized. Now, you should ask yourself whether or not it is healthy for you to partake of that artwork -be it anime or something else- but these images are intentionally designed to evoke sexual attraction in the audience, so in a way, it is not really your fault.

That being said, if you find yourself irresistibly attracted to 16 year old, real world women, then please seek help, and it might be a good idea to seek help, and the first step might be to stop watching anime. But, I rarely think that happens, if at all.

My point is this: It is not reality, but rather a representation of reality. I stopped watching most anime years ago, not only because I think it largely went downhill, but I became frustrated with the portrayal of women in it. One aspect of that is the hyper-sexualization of the young female characters.
