If you lived in the Pokemon world what would you do?

Open a little Pokemon Ranch somewhere full of strong Pokemon on the road to the Pokemon League - I'd let trainers stay in some spare rooms for a small fee, sell some Repels and basic medical gear and even offer Daycare services.

Basically, I'd be rolling around in cute baby Pokemon and money.

I'm simply not social enough to challenge everyone I ever meet to a battle so I doubt Id become the Champion. Owning a gym would be pretty cool but not if it meant I could only have one type of pokemon. Id probably do what I do now but with some pokemon companions (Most likely a fire type, flying , water and electric) and fight crime on the weekends Maybe get a couple of badges for bragging rights.

Catch me a Vulpix and turn it into a Ninetails when it lets me. He'll know psychic so he can help me with research (and if possible, he'll use it to talk to me like Mewtwo) I'd have a fire-based team (With a few non-fire types with some fire moves) and work my way to being a fire gym leader (While studying representations of Pokemon through literature on the side - I can be a scholar when I'm not gym leading~!). With the beauty of fire and wits of a fox, I will become renown as the fiercest of gym leaders! If all works out and I feel unchallenged by that life (And the elite 4 finds itself lacking challengers because of me), I'll move onto becoming one of the Elite 4 while maintaining the scholarly stuff on the side.

Pretty much living a normal life but with Pokemon as my pet. So what if I'm not going to become a Champion I still going to have more than one Pokemons on me. Having them by my side is more than enough for me.
Maybe having one Pokemon would be the best as the food bill would be huge but yet again the Pokemon Center provide free health care so I guess I will battle other to take my winnings for feed them.

If I lived in Johto, I would definitely be a Pokemon Trainer and strive to be the very first Pokemon Gym Leader to have Dark-type as a specialty. I would also travel to other regions to find and capture new Dark-types to battle in my gym, as well as collect new Fire-types and Dragon-types.

If I were to live in Unova (i.e. freakin' New York, USA) then I would probably become a programmer and engineer to manufacture new forms of Pokeballs because apparently Unova has no imagination when it comes to creating Pokeballs.

I would also "accidentally" create a new Pokemon named Hackbyte, a Virus Pokemon that is an Electric/Poison type Pokemon with moves that can inflict all types of status ailments and debuffs. It would have the ability of Digital Presence, which makes it immune to all physical attacks and it's signature attack will be the Void Ray, which will change a Pokemon's ability to "Void Infection," causing it to loose 1/8 of it's HP if it has a status condition (i.e. Sleep, Burn, Poison, etc.).
