Call me lame. Call me sensitive. But I watched that, and I know that when it happens in game, I will be brought to tears. There is so much subtle beauty in that, this chubby nerd just can't take it.

Hypothetically speaking, if it IS the design for the final scenes of Heart of the Swarm, WHY LEAK IT?!? *RAWWR*. How is this good for the public? Why would you want to see a shoddy, part-storyboard, incomplete hodgepodge version of what is supposed to be an awe-inspiring closing sequence to one of the most popular and revered games around? IMO, we're better off without.

I think its fake because of the TRANSFORMERS MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND!!!
Think, why would Blizzard put the Transformers BGM in a clip? Even one as unrefined as this...sorry internet, but I swear that this isnt real.
The same reason Bioware put music from Lord of the Rings in their Dragon Age Origins ad. Because they could.

Thank Tassadar I love spoilers.

I didn't believe it.
Then I believed it.
And the last 20 seconds made me not believe it out of sheer absurdity. Still, Metzen's one of those VA's you can recognize quickly. It sounded very close.

I would explain why, but I'll get a suspension for spoilers. I know it. Quick, someone tell me how to do spoiler text.

This is ain't the endin'.
Well obviously not the end of the whole series, there's another game after. As for holy crap factor, not much for me. Maybe its because I read TVtropes alot, but there isn't really anything in the video that surprised me. It was all plot points that needed to happen, because after all, in Wings of Liberty they revealed that there is a very big threat out there, and the three races need to be united.

I don't know, I don't care, but I'm not watching it even if you pay me. Well, ok, I'd watch it if you paid me, but not for free! Hell, I'm not even going to read this thread, since people are likely retelling the whole thing...

At first I thought fake...then I watched for ten seconds more. Those were the real models with low polygons and low textures for animatics. I also recongnized Metzen's voice, artwork, and cheesy voice acting.

I remember being displeased at Wings of Liberty's ending.

Thankfully, it is only 1/3rd of this story.

Because that was a super duper weak ending.

In Brood War Jim swore to kill Kerrigan despite his past feelings for her. After she betrayed him and murdered Fenix. At the end of Brood War, every other faction in the Galaxy united together to try to kill Kerrigan and she still kicked all their asses!

What happened here? She gets beat by a union of a poor ass militiant group and half the Dominion's fleet. These guys with their collective forces at their prime united with the Protoss, UED, Kel-Morian Combine, and Psi-Disruptor and still couldn't defeat her. Of course they didn't have their magical Xel'Naga MacGuffin at that time.

Sarah Kerrigan, the supreme leader of the Zerg Swarm - a being who controls trillions of beings simultaneously across the stars, who shrugs off direct nuclear explosions and regrows limbs in seconds is defeated by a magical MacGuffin.

Then Jim Raynor, knight in bulky armor comes to rescue Sarah Kerrigan, helpless-dainty-damsel-in distress.

And what the hell was Mengsk planning? I seriously don't get it. All the forces in the universe combined couldn't kill Kerrigan, and he expected some prison thug to be able to complete the job? Oh was it because he somehow knew Raynor could get close enough, and by putting him next to Raynor he could accomplish it? I don't know. It would have made more sense for Mengsk to have ordered him to kill Jim instead.

Back to the regular program, Jim and Sarah live happily ever after. Sarah who is now human is good again! Yay!

It feels like bad slash fiction. It is as if at the end of Star Trek: First Contact, Data turned the Borg Queen towards good, both turned human, and got married on the bridge of the Enterprise. It's so sugary lovey-dovey, I feel embarrassed. Maybe if I were still ten (That's when I played the original SC), I would've liked this ending.

(We're talking about the person who accidentally killed her mom when she was eight by making her head explode with a thought. We're talking about the Zerg supreme leader who can simultaneously control trillions of beings across worlds. She doesn't need a normal man to take a bullet and shoot someone for her!)

Many practitioners of the Starcraft cult flamed me endlessly. They told me "this is not the real ending, this is only one third of the story. Blizzard has been conceptualizing this since 1997, they wouldn't let us down." Unfortunately at 2/3 of the story Blizzard is repeating same mistakes.

Similarities:

-Sarah Kerrigan the baddest ***** in the universe, voted number one game villain of all time is depowered and transformed into the damsel in distress.
-Boring handsome male lead has to save her.
-Cheesy one liners.
-Infested Kerrigan's opposition has to use stupid MacGuffin to stop her.
-Zerg retconned to a noble species.

For anyone who bothered to watch it, there are some points to consider that give this away very easily. I can even explain it without spoilers!

Considering that Blizz is only 1/3 the way through SCII, you need only count up enemy factions since the game is basically a matter of who you fight.

For Kerrigan, the list includes:
The Dominion
The Tal'darim
The Hybrids
The Daelam Protoss
A Renegade Swarm potentially controlled by either the Hybrids or a Terran faction such as the Dominion or (what's left of) the Moebius Foundation.

Now assume that Blizzard really rolls with the whole "three races united against the Hybrid" thing. What would that leave Zeratul to fight? Hybrids, proxy zerg (assuming Kerrigan doesn't unite them all) Tal'darim and that inter-tribal faction crap Blizzard promised. Now...

Oh, hell. I went back to check the video footage. Activision took it down. It's real. Holy crap.

Wikileaks has gone too far.

I can totally see blizzard taking another half a decade to release this just to change that ending.

i saw the video on kotaku's article and omg ..that is so cliche and cheese just like the 1st ending.

apparently kerrigans not human anymore so the cure was limited... and she and Raynor are now best friends forever . the whole he loves her thing went completely out the window and yet again some special McGuffen had been used to get to the ending with the zerg becoming saints or some thing >.>.

the amount of copyright claims by activision used on these videos makes me think its real and the voice acting sure was on par with the 1st ending and the amount of cheese makes it perfect for a blizzard video .... but i seriously do not like how this story is shaping especially after it took them what 12 years? to think of it...

I don't buy it.

How can Kerrigan be back to her creepy Zerg self after the events of Wings of Liberty? Unless the three campaigns aren't meant to be told chronologically and are actually occurring simultaneously in the game world?
Well, it's quite possible:

When you play through 'Wings of Liberty' there's always a distinction when somebody talks about the Zerg Queen. In Zeratul's vision the characters always mention her as Queen of Blades wheras Raynor always calls her Kerrigan (except for one occasion near the end). The Queen of Blades being dead could refer to Kerrigan being human again, thus forcing Raynor to giver her over to the Zerg once again.

That was pretty dumb.

So Blizzard go through all this "yaaay, we cured Kerrigan so she's free of her infestation and all that stuff", only to bring her back into zerg-form again? WHY? And this seems more like the ending to all of StarCraft 2, considering Kerrigan's all like "boo-hoo, the zerg will leave you in peace now". And they don't even mention the hybrids. Aren't they the "big baddies"? Did they... leave the protoss to fight the hybrids to send off Kerrigan to fight Mengsk? How... I... what?!

This is just dumb. I hope this isn't real.

I personally think this is fake. I gues its the Transformers music that makes me...abit suspicious, and the quality of the ending too. Doesnt feel like blizz's work.
