Jack Thompson Sues Facebook

I seem to be in two minds about this.

1.) Mr Thompson doesn't like it when someone uses their free speech to disagree with him. (as demonstrated on various interviews and radio shows - see Wikiquotes.)
2.) Mr Thompson cannot tell a bunch of cheesed off gamers venting their spleen from a real death threat.

But my final thoughts upon this is that the Freedom of speech works both ways - while Mr Thompson is allowed to express his almost offensive opinions, he must also accept that people out there really don't like him for trying to put a dampener upon their hobbies.

All I gotta say, is I love the photo. He looks like he just might get smacked by an Atari 2600.
For those of you saying you should join those groups, you should really be ashamed of yourselves for putting yourself in with those idiots. Yes Jack is unlikeable by many gamers because of his stance, but that is his right, and for once he is actually doing something that can actually hurt the gaming community, whether or not he wins. Not once did he ever threaten anyone with violence, and yet gamers are doing that against him, proving his point that games just incite violence. If you want to make him look like an arse? Take down those groups now, and instead start a group that proves Jack Thompson is wrong about gamers. Without the use of Atari 2600's as weapons. (Geez, why would you destroy a perfectly good game system anyway? Use a 360. Not serious about that.)

See, Jack Thompson is very, very clever. Gamers by and large have a very violent sense of humour, and ARE slightly more used to giving and recieving threats and generally acting like twats. He prods gamers in front of normal people until they do what they do best - start impotently threatening physical violence. Nothing makes a point like you staying calm while the other guy starts ranting and threatening.

My solution? We know Buddists are on our side and most of us SERIOUSLY need some anger management training if we're going to look like tha good guys consistently. Find a Buddist, talk to the Buddist, and get help controlling your anger.
