Am I the only one happy to see some thing like this?. Come on ladies and gents. Admit it, we all love Jack for this. It's some thing to laugh at and facepalm at. I hope Thompson does this for the rest of his days. Specially now that he has less authority on this than I or you do. Now it's just Jack acting like an old man saying "Damn you, you young whippersnappers, playing your gamymajigs"... He no longer has any power (Though even when he did, he never was able to accomplish anything) and no one takes him seriously. So come on... Just smile.

I can't wait for the next read... I can't wait for Jacks next attempt to fight the video game industry. Always a fun bit of entertainment.

On another related note, why is everyone getting up in arms against MoH, nobody seemed to care that you could kill american soldiers as Nazis...

This man can kiss the fat at the end of my back that is my ass.

He's saying that this videogame will give people the tools to kill the US military.

...

(facepalm)
Next you know he'll state that we can ACTUALLY travel through time in a video game, and corrupt the balance of the universe and blah blah blah... can he walk down a flight of stairs and trip or something?

Honestly Jack needed to shut the hell up when he went to the secretary of DEFENSE to try and ban a game. I facepalm at his sad sad attempt to get rid of our nerd fuel

As Eminem said "We need a little controversy".

I'll be honest, I'm surprised anyone is surprised at this. Lets not deny it, this is a controversial move by EA. I can't even think of many films or books that have covered the Iraq war from the perspective of the terrorists. At least with, say, WW2 or Vietnam, we have had tonnes of other works "softening the blow" so to say.
I totally agree with that entire video.

I can't help but suspect that the game developers/publishers are actually paying Jack Thompson to do things like this so as to create publicity. I mean, why did he need to mention the release date? It seems pretty win/win as the games get publicity and so does Jack. He also never seems to achieve anything.
That actually makes sense... It's entirely possible.

I can imagine it now:

Ol' Jacky T is sitting in a fishing boat on some lake in the middle of nowhere. A chopper swoops out of the sky with the EA logo painted on its flank, and begins to hover in front of him. The door of the chopper flies open, a suit pops out - hanging onto his toupee so that it doesn't get sucked into the rotor, and says, "Mr. Thompson! We need you!"

Jacky T replies, "I'm retired."

"I can give you what you want -- no, what you need." The suit gestures inside of the helicoper to reveal a news crew, complete with a rookie cameraman.

Ol' Jack smiles, tosses his rod off the side of the boat, and hops aboard.

Wow I could actually picture that :p Nice work. Hey, if you write a story about him like that, he might just get the publicity he wants and then he'll leave us all alone =D

Thompson must be delerious.

If he stakes any firmer stand against gaming, I'm gonna move to Switzerland, maybe they aren't as crazy on video game content as he, or the Austrialian Goverment, seem to be.

A challenge to Jack Thompson and anyone who thinks that Medal of Honor teaches people how to use dangerous guns:

Put up a shooting range. Just a standard shooting range. Based ONLY on the knowledge gained from Medal of Honor, they are to take a military issue rifle; assemble it, properly maintain it, and manage to fire multiple clips without it jamming and NEVER miss the center 3 rings or the eye. If they can't do that, then they can never whine again.

I mean sheesh. Doesn't this guy have better things to do? As blind as he is in his crusade, I know he isn't a total idiot. Do I recognize the fact that M rated games are bad for little kiddies? Yes! But that's why I wouldn't let my children play an M rated game and I'd do my best as a parent, THE RESPONSIBLE ADULT to stop them from playing it. Then again we live in a country where the dominant species of adult is inbred and clinically insane, so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm suffering dementia and if I opened my eyes I'd find out he's actually 100% right. *shrugs*

Oh, I love this guy, he's a laugh a minute.

Pre-order = actually getting the game, YEAH RIGHT (Not at EB Games, anyhow)!

Medal of Honor highly realistic, HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Taliban using this as a training tool, outright stupid! Even a sim game like Operation Flashpoint is a far, FAR cry from real battle, and I doubt that playing that gives me any real ability to fire an maintain a firearm.

The best part is how he takes himself totally seriously, when in reality, he knows nothing about what he's talking about. Can you imagine the Taliban cooped up in a cave, lit by the glow of a monitor, gaming MoH online to learn skills they will use in real-life combat? Yeah, didn't think so, although turning them all into MoH addicts might help stop their acts of terrorism... Hmmm, what an idea: instead of bombing the middle east, drop in gaming PC's and copies of MoH, it'd be cheaper than bombs, and less people would hate you :p
