video game massacres? what is he representing the digital remains of my rampages on prototype?
Jack thimpsons diarry/factbook, page 61: If you 'poune' someone hard enough in a game, their head can explode in the real world

source of information: When i put together this book, i stumbled upon this group of strange yet helpfull people called /b/, they told me, that they not only fight teh cult of scientology, but also the wickedness of video-games, they showed be the their site on the network known as 4chan, where they told me i could find all sorts of horrifying examples of what video-gaming could lead to. I was shocked, really shocked, but gratefull to the sturdy group known as "/b/-tards" for gathering such massive ammounts of information about the horrors video-games lead to. I wasn't even aware that video-games was a common factor for child-abusers. I am truly thankfull to the /b/-tards, and hope to be updated further, after giving them my e-mail, which they said make our cooperation easier, cause they would send me the most important stuff. 27/5 Jack Thompson

Jack, Jack, Jack...you're irrelevant.

Not that you weren't always. Still, I have to admire him in some small way. He's persistent. Persistent like a cockroach.

It'll be used to train America's enemies? Hey genius, I guess they really have a lot of xboxs over in the mountains of Afghanistan.

Its just a game.

Yes you can play as the Taliban, but you could play as them in other games. They just have a different, fake name.

First of all, I thought he was finally gone. It really is hard to shut up such pests.

Secondly, training for actual combat from a game? What's he smoking? I couldn't hit anything with a gun in real life if my life depended on it...

. . . as someone who has represented the surviving family members of such videogame-caused massacres . . .
What the fuck is he talking about?

That being said, this guy needs to get a life. If he honestly thinks that his soldiers are in danger from troops who's skills are learned from a game, he's not giving the army any credit.

Jack, stop it. You're embarrassing yourself. The game is designed to create controversy, just like GTA was when you went off on it. You're just giving them what they want, and making yourself look (debatably) worse because of all this. Have a little dignity.

What a tool. He was disbarred, which means he now holds the equivalent weight of an unhappy pleb arguing that the Washington monument is 4 inches too tall, and not an adequate representation of Washington at all.

Thompson, a notorious anti-videogame crusader who was disbarred in 2008 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/86463-Jack-Thompson-Disbarred-UPDATED] for his unrepentant, unrelenting litany of misconduct over the years, may no longer be a lawyer but he obviously still retains his hated for videogames and lust for the limelight.
Correct me if that's an expression I've never heard, but it looks like a mistake.

Anyway, this is just ERGH. There's no way he can anyway, at least not without breaking at least every single freedom of speech law ever.

Seriously, it's kinda stupid everyone's getting up in arms about this. You don't like the Talaban? Don't play the game. Just stay away from it. They've been against the US for a bit now yea, but every war is a double edge blade. I wonder how the germans still feel being protrayed as the bad guy. But seriously though, why would the Talaban use a video game to train? -.-
*OlookIcanbashbuttonsandcamppluzwaitforautomatichealinzpluzrespawnz*....*goes out into battle*...."oh dang, this is NOTHING like what I "trained" in". Nothing can prepare you for actualy fireing a gun into someone else, hiding behind cover making sure not to get shot, and just surviving while killing all the other guys. Your shot, unless there's a medic nearby, it's gameover. No respawns or resaves or whatever.

someone needs to give him some pills, ALOT

even though, people need to understand that this is a serious medium, films make movies about war, do they get claimed for giving opposing forces a tool to our destruction? no, so why cant that be for games to?

"SIR! We have a stern letter of untmost important!"
"Who from?"
"Jack Thompson!"
"The lawyer?"
"No, he's been disbarred"
*whirring of paper shredder*
Also, training taliban? By using Medal of Honor? I think they'll have more resources than THAT. But it might be an idea! They might suddenly keep stopping in the middle of a fight (due to lag) because that's what they're trained to do!

I find interesting the fact that he believes that this game could be used to train taliban soldiers... I wonder how many gaming PC or consoles the taliban have
