if I were ea I would issue a press release saying that "we have heard your crys and now we will replace the taliban in the multi player with other american troops and instead of recording kills it will record friendly fire incidents" see how that goes over
Heh, replace the Taliban skins with British troops. As a Brit myself, I'd find it kind of funny, given that US troops accidentally hurting or killing British troops in friendly fire incidents is sadly not as rare as one would think, or indeed hope.
Anyway, Jack Thompson is nothing more than a troll. A massive one, true, but a troll nonetheless. I honestly can't see Gates doing anything about this, regardless of his own personal opinion. Hell, even if he does the rest of the government won't agree, it was the same in New Zealand (where I have family) and here in the UK. Individual people in the government complained, but they were either ignored or called out on it by the rest of their government (anyone in the UK remember Keith Vaz, and his being told to "shut up" by the Speaker of the House?).
No, it's very unlikely this will lead to anything, and really all it's doing is creating more publicity for EA and the game itself. Regardless of what he thinks he's trying to do, Thompson is effectively just playing right into EA's hands...
