True - though I think he preferred to be seen to be acting inspite of the fact he ended up screwing things up far worse than they would have been otherwise; ok, there are probably expections, but, for example, those Private-Public hospital things - even GCSE level student could have analyse the cost and show they where ricidulously expensive whilst at the same time granting virtually all control of hospital building and land management to the private sector.Amnestic said:I only need to keep people happy enough to not provoke a vote of no confidence. As long as I can still get shit done, doesn't matter what the media thinks. No PM is in office forever.Doug said:Well, you say that, but I think nobody can do a good job in politics anymore. If you actually do shit, the media crucify you for not doing things the way they want and/or get people who don't like you to speak out. If you don't do stuff and focus on the media (a.k.a. Mr Tony 'Special Relationship' Blair), you get crucified for being useless.
Either way, your buggered. Maybe I'm wrong.
Of course, whether or not I can get shit done remains to be seen.
It's funny - and a little sad - how the media can simultaneously hate Blair for being useless and not doing anything while still crucifying him for running the country into the ground with all the changes and decisions he made.
Oh, and I don't like rapes games, but I'll defend to death their right to make and sell them.
