HOW THE HELL DOES THIS COUNT AS PORNOGRAPHY?!?!?!
Porn is sex, not gory gameplay.

Now don't get me wrong, if I had a kid, I wouldn't want him playing this game until he was at least 16 but still, you're really going to stand there with a straight face and call this game PORNOGRAPHY?!?!?! Are you people high?
Actually the original meaning of the word pornography was more along the lines of "desicrating", "corrupting, or "foul-making (in the sense that it takes something good and twists it into something foul)"
Sex was considered a beautiful and sacred thing so when "smut" (the word your thinking of) was made it was deemed pornographic; that is to say it was deemed to be desacrating the sacred act of sex
over the years the two terms became so analogious that people used the word interchangably with "smut"
So the way they are using the word is actually consistent with its meaning.. more or less

on the other hand, if you actually do plan on being the type of parent to enforce (or at least aknowledge) ESRB ratings on games befor allowing your kids to purchase them, kudos

I have to hand it to the guys at activision, not only have they made one of the most controversial games in recent memory the also did it right in the middle of the fraking supreme court case that decides the future of video games, or have they already forgotten about Schwarzenegger v EMA the dumb fraks.

This is dumb... It's not killing Castro. Its an assassination ATTEMPT.

A FUCKING ATTEMPT. Meaning you don't actually kill Castro. Seriously, Cuba can go fuck right off if they're pissy that history is recreated in a digital form. Does Germany go and boycott all WWII games?

could be considered a form of pornography to which local laws apply,
Whaaaaat. Did the definition of porn change while I was asleep?

The only thing this does is making me want to buy a game I have no interest in just to spite them.

Killing Castro during the Bay of Pigs is Controversial? I thought that was the whole point of the invasion(that and overthrow the Castro government).

Wait...Black Op's has porn in it?! *runs off to the nearest game shop*

OT: It's understandable, their uproar about Castro - but at the same time calling violence 'pornography' or using pornography's meaning improperly is pretty stupid.

Also why wasn't this porn that is CLEARLY inherent in the game mentioned by reviews?

I'd love to see a game get made where you get to kill American Presidents...

Then we'd REALLY see if people thought it was 'just a game'
I'm sure that it would get sold in huge numbers, escpesially if you only killed a decoy. What bothers me is that peope are pissed about killing Fidel Castro but games that pit 18-19 year old kids from America against 18-19 year old conscripts from China(BF2) are cool.

Both should be ok. The idea in these games is that you are killing soldiers from another army, and games that are set in the present or past all mean that at some level you are supposed to be killing real peope. All of the Wehrmacht had kids wive girl friends, parents, names. But we kill them without question in so many games.

Also, I am cuncussed and have painkillers in me. If this post makes no sense dont hate me.

hahaha oh wow,

i dont see why the Castro assassination was so controversial, the CIA did tried to kill him in numerous occasions, in fact one of the would-be assassins (a woman) ended up falling in love with him.

but even then i would have liked to see something more controversial such as touching the Kennedy assassination as treating it as an insider job.. that the stuff that most likely be fun to observe reactions from.

I didnt know there was a hot and heavy Castro sex scene. Kinky...

This is the best selling game in HISTORY, and they think they can go ahead and stop stores from selling it? Stores would sell Cocaine if it made this much money in one week!

It does.

The ending hints at Mason being the one who kills Kennedy.

Some group makes a stupid and uninformed statement, believing that they are some righteous form of justice(in this case, justice is in their name) and merely looking out of people? Well doesn't this sound familiar? Nothing bothers me more then when people start talking from their own imaginary highhorse, thinking that they know what's best for all. I swear, these people have diarrhea of the mouth and it shows no sign of stopping anytime soon -_-

I think these people need to look up the definition of "pornography."

Also, it's Castro. It's not like he's a saint or anything. Also, he wasn't actually assassinated, so it's not THAT big of a deal. Controversial? Yes, it is, maybe it's borderline tasteless, but it's not like it's JFK.
There's a huge pice of land called Latin America where he's not hated. I think it's silly but I don't mind, but don't presume that it is so cut and dry that everyone obviously thinks like you. But I'm sure people would have quite the same reaction in the U.S if some crazy Irani developer made a Juba game and your objective was to kill US soldiers hanging around. Or if some russian made something about actively assassinating Kennedy, Obama, or George W. Bush.

Remember the pseudo controversy about the movie Kurtlar Vadisi? Precisely.

"It is part of the whole culture of U.S. militarism with the entertainment industry's role being to desensitize us to violence. Our children are the most vulnerable."

Yeah F off...no matter how realistic looking a game is until you have actually been in an IED or seen a person lose a limb you have no idea what its like. Video games won't desensitize you and if you believe that they will then you are telling me some little kid sitting safe at home playing CoD has been through as much as a combat vet...BS...sorry but people like that piss me off
