Alright, I realize this has been said before, but...
How in the 9 hells is this pornography! That is one fucking sick fetish they have if they classify that as such! Does no one in that entire damn group own a dictionary?
there is a gmae wher you play the assasin of JFK, but WHY do you want to kill a US president? Well unless you are a communist,Al Quaida terrorist or douche
were you saluting the stars and strips as a bold eagle flew by as you typed that?
OT
it is a bit pathetic to complain about a game that has a clear age rating on it...
but they have a point about the propaganda values this game holds...it keeps up the image that America is the worlds police and portrays castro to be some comic book vilan(which those of us who are educated in history know, he was far from being the worst person alive at the time)
HOWEVER...the people who are complaining clearly are just looking for something to moan about...its a 1st person shooter...what do they expect to happen in these games...
the thing that really offends me is watching the CoD franchise turn from a realistic 1st person shooter that accurately portrayed real life heroism and the feeling of being a regular joe answering his country's CALL OF DUTY in its time of need to a massive unrealistic gun wank where after you have a wipe on Old Glory...but thats a topic for another thread
Is anyone really surprised?
And did anyone in that commitee actually take the time out to see that its just about as contraversal as Inglorious Bastards

Pornography has more than one definition. Merriam Webster: "3. the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction ."
I personally think this thing is probably a little overblown, but I do understand the reaction to it. It's a game where you violently kill simulations of human beings in order to kill real historical figures. I imagine that if this was a mission to kill, say, Obama or David Cameron, the reaction might be more concerted. I'm sure Castro isn't too happy to be virtually killed,
though I imagine he's more annoyed as being the co-conspirator in a secret plot with Russian hardliners to turn the population of the United States inside-out.
I actually see their inclusion of Castro as some laughable attempt to make their story more believable. Same reason they include Robert McNamara and JFK - make it seem like this fairly ridiculous plot is grounded in reality.
One thing that I might see as truly offensive is the fact that the Call of Duty series has never depicted an English-speaking people as the enemy you slaughter mercilessly like dogs. Nazis, Italians, Japanese, Russians, Arabs, Cubans, Vietnamese - it may not be intentional, but the enemy is always racially and culturally different from the protagonist.
Now, I haven't played Black Ops, but I do know that Castro is STILL ALIVE. It's not hard to tell that this display of graphic violence detailing blood-paved streets, mutilated children, disemboweled puppies, decapitated grandmas and a shitload of tits won't be a successful mission.
Are people seriously still going on about shit like this? Why was there no controversy like this about Madworld or Dead Rising?
We no longer have a moral high ground. If you make a game about killing castro, then why did we make such a stink over the JFK murder simulator.
Get ready next week for the flagship franchise from Al-Jaharbamohammed Anslam, "JewStabbin'5000," in stores near you in time for the holiday shopping season.
Why do these people have to force their views on everyone else? Why cant they just not buy the game, they dont have to force everyone else to not buy it aswell.
Really, Call of Duty? Really?
I mean it's not like that assassination ever happened, or that the invaders even came close to Havana, but it's still kind of insulting. Like this "Georgia" movie thing which tells people that the Georgian government was good and that Russia attacked them, despite the existence of a fucking 1500 page report made by the EU which tells otherwise, and almost every news show having to "apologize" for being wrong by telling Russia attacked first. I just think such games, even if the historical data they give you is fake, are kind of OK, but I still want to punch the story writer in the stomach for being so fucking stupid.
Note how the game was already censored in Germany and Japan. Wonder what those two great nations have in common. Oh es, they lost the war...
A game needs a goal. A multiplayer game needs an opponent. A war game needs an enemy. An FPS needs an enemy you can kill, up close and personal. As long as there are FPSes, someone will be villianised and killed.
Honestly if you buy this for your child (under, say, 15 years old), you're a bad parent. I don't give a shit what "moral high ground" you're standing on. This is a mature game, to be played by mature people. If that doesn't describe your child, then don't fucking buy it. Tell the parents of your kids' friends not to buy it. Don't get up on a pedestal and call it "pornography", because then you just look like a moron with an agenda.
Do you any of you realise that the "Alliance for Global Justice" is so pathtically insignificant that it doesn't even have a wikipedia page? After looking at their website and some other stuff about them, I'd say they're some pissant Far-left movement. They appear to be harping on about "creating better grassroots" movements or some BS. They would also appear to have some links to some of the more shady left-wing political movements around the World.
I support boycotting this game. Want to know why? Imagine yourself as Fidel Castro right now. Thousands of people around the world are playing a game where the focus of a mission is to kill you. How would you feel? Probably not good, I know I wouldn't. This isn't some fictional video game villain; this is a real person, guys. Have a heart. Castro has done much for Cuba, look to your fucking history before you decide to jump into this argument for the sake of protecting your video game.
I refuse to encourage the murder of a real person; whether in fictional terms or not.
