I love how they're all trying so hard to set up Kinect as the second coming of Christ, when if the videos I've recently seen are any indication, it's going to fail extremely hard. Their most "Successful" Kinect demonstration had absolutely nothing to do with the device itself, just a bunch of elephants and dancing elves.

The tracking is horrible, moreso because it requires a camera to watch your movement. What this means is that when you're tied, neck and neck with only one point remaining, your cat's shenanigans behind you can be interpreted by Kinect as "Cook a grenade then throw it at the ground."

"Hardly anyone." Geez I had no Idea the thousands of players of TF2 or counterstike weren't anyone. So Motion controls are the next devolution in games?

Wasn't this the guy who did his part of Microsoft's E3 conference with his sunglasses on? Kind of dickish, if you ask me.

Complete BS, as I'm sure many people before me have pointed out.

Microsoft is all talk talk talk about the Kinect, but I don't see any show show show.

Show, don't tell Microsoft. I want to see how Kinect can be implemented in full games, not minigames, parts of full games, or as a mechanic in a game. How can Kinect be used so that no other control is necessary in a full fledged game?

You need to see to believe.

He's a Kinect marketer.
I hear you have to give up your dignity, your brain, and your soul when you take the job.

Shit I still play 1.6... it's the only online game I can really play on my laptop... and I get bored at school...
OT: I'm about to facepalm my face in...

Microsoft's PR department needs to put a goddamn muzzle and leash on their Kinect marketing department.

First it's "Hardcore gamers are sweaty 30 yearolds wearing Metallica T-shirts in their parent's basement"

Now it's Hardly anyone plays PC shooters.

What? Next its going to be "No one likes PC games."

Seriously. Calling it now.

Watch what happens if you play an FPS with mouse and keyboard controls in a game normally using dual sticks, it'd be easy as all heck!
I want to see a tournament between console shooters and PC shooters, same game, different controls.
The console shooters WILL ALL DIE!!!
(I still play and enjoy them, though, I just think Mouse and keyboard will murder anyone using dualsticks)

The TF2 PC group is the biggest user group on this site.
As much as I would like you to be right. You are wrong.

The Zero Punctuation group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Zero-Punctuation-Fans] is largest with over 1500 members.
Ok. Largest group not set up by the Escapist.

and your TARDIS Crew seems to be the biggest TV show fan group; with my Stargate one second.
Really? I thought your Stargate group (of which I am a member ;)) was larger. Oh well.

*strokes ego*
The inside of the TARDIS is approximetly half the size of your ego.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
OT: No, no no no. No.
Halo is fun at times but it takes more then one game to change it all.

From the Steam page:

66,415 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Multiplayer
65,164 Counter-Strike: Source
61,036 Counter-Strike
17,888 Football Manager 2010
13,746 Team Fortress 2
10,053 Left 4 Dead 2

That's not quite in line with his statements.

And it also scares me that 1.6 is still so popular.
Halo Reach. 734,000. Obviously 60,000 people is nothing to shake a stick at, but by comparison all of those games don't add up to one xbox game. So not hardly anyone by any means... but definitely fewer than there should be.
