why should i care when a bunch of people who can't play it get butthurt over it and run to the government crying about it
Because you're next. And if not the government, who will defend your rights then?
When this turns out in Blizzard's favor, abusive practices escalate.
Next week YOU won't be able to access servers. Then what will you say?
Cause I guarantee it won't be, "Well, just my luck. Can't use a product I legally purchased. My fault for buying."
You will be here, bitching and whining as though you never liked Blizzard in the first place. And before you even think about telling me that I don't know you or anything about you: I DO know you. There ain't a whole hell of a lot of personality types in the world and I've seen them all.

I don't give a fuck if you want to continue to blow them, but DO NOT come here and pretend like it's our fault, or that it's nothing to do with Blizzard's practice. You want to fellate them? Do it on their message boards. In these parts we tend to give a fuck when a company gets away with abusive practices.
You don't have to care, but don't you DARE try to defend them to us you corporate schill.
you can't know what people will do like that. saying that makes me care even less what happens to you people. trust me this world isn't as black and white as you like to think it is
I know really dark grey when I see it, and I'm seeing it.
i don't care what happens to blizzard but to be honest i care even less about people not being able to play a game. so if you guys ever think of a good reason for me to care I'll stick to what I'm doing
So basically your argument is that somebody else not being satisfied with poor business practices isn't important and the person shouldn't be angry about it, because you personally haven't experienced the problems that they're facing?

"First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."

I wish you the best of luck the day that you're actually affected by shitty business practices and want other people to care that you're pissed about it. The only problem is, I'm pretty sure you're already being affected by these shitty business practices - You're just choosing to shove your head in the sand and pretend that everything is well and good, when it's really not.

Enjoy your diablo 3!

this is just as bad as the bullshit about the me3 ending when will it end.
Except this actually protects consumer rights as opposed to trying to make a game ending not suck.
the right to be assholes are the only rights i see being protected these days
Wait, the product doesn't work, it's clearly not the customers' fault, and therefore the customers are assholes?

If the refunds happen, I'll be happy. Consumer rights in the game industry would be a nice change of pace.
so if it doesn't work for some people the rest of us need to get our knickers in a bunch. if that's the way it is then the games that don't get translated are in the same boat
So, let's take a leap and make an anology to the food industry. Let's say a company knowingly puts out salmonella infected canned chili. Some people get sick from the batch and some people don't. You're essentially saying that those who didn't get infected should point and laugh at the people who did, and now have to front the medical bills and whatever else, while the company frolics away without any sort of consequences.

Oddly, even though the comparisons seem rather different, they're very similar. Both put out defective products, and both cause the customers to pay money and, in essence, get punished for it while the company who put the defective product on the market doesn't have to do anything. Which is absolutely ridiculous, and exactly why I'm happy to see this happening. Hopefully it (and by this I mean the investigation) spreads to other countries.

Not particularly empathetic, are you?

Anyways, you should care because it's Blizzard, who used to be a bastion of high quality entertainment, starting a record of selling damaged goods and refusing to refund them. We're getting on your case because you don't seem to recognize this and keep posting anyways.
damned if you do damned if you don't, I'd get berated on any side i pick so why should i change sides now

Then why comment at all if you don't care?
Apathy has no position to defend.

Nevermind that your first comment on the matter was comparing this to the controversy of ME3; so clearly you had some sort of stake in commenting on the reaction of the *customers*.

Which contradicts what you just said.

EDIT: Now I see your motivation quite clearly. Given your decided lack of refutation for nearly every point that gets brought up, I can only assume you're just commenting to piss people off.

Typical.

Not only is this the silliest copout I've ever heard (seeing how this logic applies bloody everywhere), but you just confirmed that you actually don't give a damn one way or the other, so you should probably just stop talking.

If you pick sides entirely based on how badly you'll be berated, then A. you've made a terrible decision in this thread, and B. your opinions are worthless.

And when then they tried speaking out they got shot because the Nazis has soldiers and tanks and they didn't, now kindly come back when you have an 'argument' that isn't shitty poetry.

And now that I think about it did Korea do this sort of thing when WoW was unplayable for the first few weeks? 'cause I don't think they did.

bending over really that's what your going with. what's this better game
Just to answer this, off my head of games that do not require always online and are good / critically acclaimed.

Metal Gear Series.
Half Life Series.
Portal Series.
Left 4 Dead series.
Max Payne series.
Amnesia: the Dark Descent.
Mario series.
Mega Man series.
Castlevania series.
Final Fantasy series.
Doom series.
Duke Nukem series except for Forever.
Serious Sam series.
Total War series.
Civilization series.
And finally Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Take your fucking pick. And yes, your bending over, head first and are doing what a customer who is ignoring facts should, blindly defending their loving company despite glaring flaws.

--------------- -------------------- ----------------------------- --------------

Hopefully more developers will realize that this DRM bullshit just doesn't fly with the proper cases in hand.

Guys, you might as well ignore Tony2077. He's either trolling or has his fingers so far in his ears going 'nah-nah, not listening' you're not going to change his mind. You get fanboys like him sometimes and there's just no real dealing way of them except ignoring them.

Your logic seems to be: "It will be abused by people so it shouldn't be allowed."

But:
- Blizzard may have broken laws in South Korea
- People are unable to play a game they bought, because of Blizzard's bad customer service
- Consumer rights for computer games are some of the worst in existence already - it's incredibly hard to take PC games back to a shop. In the UK, for example, if you are unhappy with the quality of a product, there is a law stating that you can take it back, but if it's a computer game you have to state line and verse of UCTA before it WILL be taken back.

Blizzard made a huge profit off the game, and it seems like, even if some people might exploit a returns policy, that's a direct consequence of Blizard's failure to deal properly with the launch, and so their own fault. At some point they made a decision to cheap out on the number of servers, with the result that many people can't play their game. If it bites anyone in the arse, it SHOULD be Blizzard. It certainly shouldn't be those who bought the game, and then can't play it.

After reading the Amazon feedback section, I'm seriously questioning whether or not I will buy this.

Aw, such a sweet little try (pats you on the head). you are the most adorable little troll. I'll keep you, and pet you, and call you george.

Either that, or imagine everything you say comes out in Cartmans voice.

And all the while Korean gamers were saying to themselves "should have stuck with god-damn Starcraft, Blizz was less greedy and full of shit then".

Indeed. As it is I'm a bit pissed at Blizzard for failing yet again. First error 37s, then patch errors that I'm still waiting on a response for.
Still, better games to play I guess.

Thank you South Korea for taking a stand to protect your consumers against US's predatory game industry. They've been legal-weaseling their way into misapplying the principle of caveat emptor to defraud US customers for over a decade now. I'm glad to see there's a country out there where the government will actually act in the best interests of its populace.
