I actually do have a lot of respect for Shia LaBoeuf, I think he's just been pigeonholed into the mediocre action genre. He has a lot of potential, he just needs to do some real acting films. I think his reaction was done in fairly good taste.

to be fair its labeoufs fault that alot of things are bad, hell transformers would only be improved by not having him in it

I never really did like LaBeouf, but I'm not saying the lastest Indiana Jones's was his fault. It would be giving him a little too much credit.

But seriously, Aliens?
Oh yeah, Aliens was just wierd.

Because a drink that makes you immortal, and ghosts that kill people are COMPLETELY realistic.
You make a good point and I agree.

But seriously,

Aliens and Indiana Jones does not mix.

In my opinion at least.

I pretty much stand by south parks take on all this.

However, Shia's recent form has trebled my respect for him.
I still stand by the idea that South Park was not making fun of the movie, but making fun of all the fanboys who acted like it was the end of the world when Indy 4 didn't live up to their completely unrealistic expectations. I mean when Indy 4 came out, there was more fanboy tears than when Christopher Reeve died.
I know I am in the minority here, but I just can see the South Park guys being so emo over a movie.
Perhaps that was part of their motivation for the episode. But I still think that the creators of south park's natural humor tends to lead toward the tearing down of arrogant, powerful and famous names with little remorse or subtlety, rather than lolling at the masses for their understandable reaction to the blatant commercial exploitation (-rape) of a much loved IP.

Actually... LaBoeuf isn't that bad an actor, but the films he's in haven't been great. For example, Disturbia was brilliant.

2 words can describe what's wrong with Shia LaBeouf for me "Even Stevens", if I hadn't seen him in this show before he went into major acting I may have been able to take him seriously.

Yeah Crystal Skull wasn't up to par with the first three but it did manage at least to not take a big smelly all encompassing shit on the entire franchise like the Star Wars prequels. Hell, if he REALLY wants to apologize for something why not Transformers 2?
he did apologize for transformers 2, saw it on yahoo news just two days ago.

Actually I quite liked Shia in his role in Indy 4. It was the writing that screwed him over. In a small way he also has the ghost of River Phoenix haunting him as well. River quite well established Young Indiana Jones and Mutt just doesn't fit that image as well. But that's just a small quibble.
And I have that vine swinging in my head again....PURGE!
Now if there is a movie Shia should feel guilty over, it is Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen. But he isn't completely to blame for that, either.
I'd like to see Shia stretch his acting a bit and break his stereotype that's been getting built. Break the Disney mold he is still carrying.
Though it looks like Indy 4 isn't the only cross he is carrying: http://www.reelempire.com/news/68-movies/2367-shia-labeouf-promises-better-transformers-3
Shia, Michael Bay has a lot of 'splaining to do there. You just do your part and be the Sam Witwicky we got to know in the first.

Yes it did....=)

Even though everyone brings up aliens, nuking fridge, and CGI monkeys, those weren't all the issues in the movie.

1. WTF are crystal skulls? I mean everyone knows what the Ark and the Holy Grail are, but wtf are crystal skulls? There was a sense of mystery behind those artifacts that was gone completely with the fourth installment.

NOw you might argue that the Temple of Doom's Shankara stones weren't interesting either, but that movie was about India.

I mean I don't even remember the locals in Indy 4, do you? What's sad is recently I've been playing Uncharted 1 and 2, and those two games take place in El Dorado and Shangra-La, why the fuck does a Indy knock off video game have more mysterious and renown locals than an Indy movie?

2. Replacing Nazis with Reds, it just made Indy look like a Mccarthyist when he says "I like Ike," and honestly I found it a bit offensive.

3. Mudd won't STFU....now I'm not blaming Shia, Shia can only be himself and he's always meant to be a side kick in movies, but why the hell does he have so many lines here. I mean he's already playing out the role of a 'the wild ones' rip off greaser, but it's like they're forcing his character down our throats.

4. Bringing back Marion, I understand they're trying to wrap up the series with this installment, but she just looks old and tired in this film, and no character or presence what so ever. She's such an important person in the Indy series, and she's handled so poorly in this film it was just sad.

5. Shia picking up the Fedora.....FUCK NO, nothing against Shia...again, but the prequels equivalent of this scene was George force feeding us that Medichorians crap that we heard in Phantom Menace. I know somewhere an executive asked George or Steve if there was any way to start a new series to milk the franchise a little be longer, but this was just wrong in so many levels....>=0

6. The stupid quadruple agent thing, they wanted somewhere in the plot a close friend of Indy's to betray him, but they didn't want it to be reminiscent of 'the last Crusade,' so they pulled this shit..../shakes head.

There is so many things wrong with that movie that I feel tired thinking about it....so even though it wasn't as b.s. and forgettable as the Tomb Raider movies, it was just the next worse thing....=(

Finally! Someone who owns up to their mistakes. Now, all we're waiting for is an apology from Megan Fox's parents.

That aside, I still liked Indie 4, but it did get silly at times. Well, sillier, than normal.
Oh snap! Zing!

OT: I don't think he should be too hard on himself. Everyone told me the new one was poop in comparison to the old, so I never watched it, probably not going to either! ;)
It's worth watching, no matter how bad people say it is. I mean, you can at least find some enjoyment out of the odd parts.

I always liked Shia LeBouf, I likd him since his role in Even Stevens and I thought he was funny. He seems like a decent chap and might be being a bit hard on himself here... but self deprication is an admirable trait(provided you dont do it too often or simply for pity.).

To LaBeouf (even though he won't ever read this)

Dude, get over it. It wasn't your fault or Ford's fault. You guys did a great job. Honestly, it was the story. I get we can't have Indiana fight Nazis, but that's what the first three movies were about. Having him fight Russians is just a tad unusual. Also, mixing aliens into the story was probably the worst idea one could think of for an Indiana Jones film. I honestly can't accept the 4th movie as a true Indiana Jones film because of that terrible plot. I even hated how the torch was essentially passed down to the kid. All-in-all, I had no problem with the acting. I just couldn't get my head around the very uninspired plot.
