I actually liked the film too. I actually didn't like LaBeouf's character in that movie, but his willingness to take blame for it has made me like him a lot more. And I think it was largely the writer's fault. There were just so many stereotypes in his character.WrongSprite said:I quite liked it, thought it was good fun.
It's not his fault if the people who were nursing their nostalgia kept moaning...
I actually liked the movie, but I agree with your assessment of Labeouf's character and how it was more his character's design than his fault.apsham said:I am one of the biggest Indiana Jones fans - the biggest certainly out of everyone that I know. And I hated the fourth movie with a passion. I'd rather watch a million Young Indiana Jones adventures than watch that thing one more time.
And true - it was the existence of LaBeouf's character that dragged the whole thing down a lot for me. But ultimately that has nothing to do with him and I don't see any need for him to apologize. No one could have made that work, Indiana really doesn't need a character like that following him around and trying to make it look like a torch passing event was a really bad move. If the studio really wanted to do something like that - they should have given us another Indiana and then moved into a new series of prequels casting LaBeouf as the Indiana from that time.
Not perfect, I know - but it keeps the crap outta my Indy.
