Something else nobody mentions: Am I the only one having noticed the Deus-Ex-like body modifications on everybody in the trailer? Looks like we already know what the plot is going to be about... Not that a game with a character like THIS could be about anything else.
Well, since MGS1, the idea of using technology to create a human being with abilities beyond what someone would normally have has been a major theme. In 1 it was genetic manipulation, in 2 it was VR training, in 3 they did a different angle on the theme and emphasized that the dehuminazing effect of combat itself on a soldier made them outside the rest of humanity, and by 4 they were into mechanical augmentations, neural linking, and nanomachines.
I might suggest that Deus Ex is like a Western parallel series to Metal Gear Solid? I'm not done with my playthroughs of the 1st or 3rd Deus Ex, but both series seem to start from a similar origin and apply what I might think of as quitessentially western and eastern design philosophies to get to the final product.

I really can't believe that gamers have become so jaded that they can watch a trailer of a man who is also a cyborg ninja go toe to leg in a sword fight against a Metal Gear Ray before proceeding to throw it into the air then slice it apart and scoff at it!
Can you really say that it doesn't look fun as hell?
Couldn't have said it better myself. The gaming community seems awfully cynical considering that we're supposed to be united by a hobby that is ostensibly fun.
Especially weird when it comes to the Metal Gear Solid Series. This is a series where the most "serious" installment featured a guy who was covered in bees that could make him teleport for the second boss, and the big bad could shoot lightning out of his hands for no explained reason.
