With what I have discerned about this case, there isn't anything wrong about it, other than "Eww, some old lady is gonna have a fucking child!"
If it's all artificial insemination and implantation, then there isn't a single spot of moral high ground to stand on.
Personally, I find nothing wrong with this, or incest.
I only find something off when dealing with making kids w/o insemination and such. Mostly because it could cause issues for the child genetically.

No, it's been naturally ingrained into us to think it's wrong. If it was natural for this to happen, then the baby wouldn't be mutated.

Doesn't Freudian do the Oedipal complex? In which case it would be the mother, not grand mother that's the target here.

Unless his grandmother fed him and was thus responsible for his earliest pleasure experiences, there's no reason Freud would have anything to say here.

In fact, since he was put up for adoption one would presume he had no contact with his genetic family, and thus no foundation for any kind of Oedipal relationship with them.

Oi, I was making that point, though I didn't actually read the article so I didn't know the other stuff. Also Freud was an idea that the OP threw out there, I was just questioning it.

Personally I find this sort of thing disgusting. But after I read that the grandmother isn't going to give birth I can't really hate them. Sexual relationships with family members is not okay with me, but who am I to question love?

I think its pretty weird, and don't understand how somebody could feel like that for their grandmother. However, If they feel that way about one another, good for them.
