I too have returned, just catching up with this thread.

And apparently I've been dwarfed twice, being massacred by goblins once, and completely blisterrotting the @#$* out as a dwarf child.

So I'm trying to get Dwarf Fortress for my Macbook, however I've encountered a problem.

I can download it, however all that happens when I do is I get a Zip file that just shows a punch of meaningless code, anyone know how to fix this?

You need to unzip it and then run it in Terminal with ~/Desktop/df_osx/df

You also need to have at least OS 10.5 and an Intel inside.

... There are good reasons i despise the pony fanbase. Attempting to start flamewars is one of the reasons.

But in any case, yes, toady estemated that the next update will be "Arround the 15th January" on the 1st, But recently sad that the 15th is a likely bet a few days ago.

i hope frakentein-esque monters will be added at some point along with fort-controllable necromancers. just throw him in a pit, along with a needle, some thread, and all of those now use;ess mermaid corpses. unleash the resulting beast apon the gobbo hordes!

Why sew them back together? Have a couple halves of mermaids to strike fear into the pansy Elves' hearts. I don't care if it isn't as effective, it's fun damnit.

actually, that probably would be more effective. loads of small enemies are better than 1 big one, pretty much always.
