This. LBP isn't trying to be some complex game editing tool, it just happened to become one. Like many editors in the past people took the system and simply spun it to new heights. Much like the MSP Mona Lisa the fun isn't in the creating of vast artworks, in in the fun of squeezing all you can out of a limited toolset.
As a award-winning and crowned creator (Ok, enough bragging) I'm obviously going to support LBP. But I have to say it's one of those things you might never understand if you don't experience it. Like other artworks, the more you know about the process - the more you can appreciate the final result.
