Also, this is the FBI's job - hunt down domestic threats in the United States. This includes these hackers. I think the guys you are talking about CIA - which they have been doing their job.

Honestly you can cheer for these groups all you like or say 'It's just a faceless corporation' but these are not revolutionaries, these are not political activists, these people are at best vigilantes, and not the batman kind. They aren't out to make the world better and they aren't trying to help anyone, they are hurting people and not the big CEOs or other high payed guys, the common folks, you an me.
In the aftermath of these attacks on Sony what is going to happen? Sony will cut costs to balance the losses from these attacks, that means the bottom level people who work long hours for a paycheck a fraction of the CEOs get their pink slips and unemployment gets another few thousand people added to the tally. Yeah those hackers really helped those people, and did nothing to the executives, and the millions of customers who lost access to their games for a few days, have had their personal information stolen and have to worry about losing everything to identity theft. Yeah great job hackers you put more weight on these people, and Sony will raise PSN costs to cover the loses and to pay for increased security, you guys did a great job.
These guys aren't heroes, these guys hurt millions of people just so they could arrogantly claim they accomplished something, so they could feel good about themselves. This is just bullying on another level guys, and you aren't hurting the decision makers you are hurting the guys who just do their jobs. No matter how good you are they are going to catch up with you eventually, the web isn't as anon as it used to be and the FBI has guys every bit as good as you are

Wait, what? No, not at all. Anonymous isn't a group "with a trusted set of ideals" or stuff like that. Anonymous is the internet equivalent of a ski mask: it's a cover to be worn when you want to do something that you might not want your name attached to. And while the FBI and such don't look at an armed robbery and say, "My God! That's the thousandth crime by the Ski Mask Bandit this month!
