Everything about that idea sounds awesome.

This sounds like it could be brilliant, but I really don't trust LucsArts to make it any good...

There goes any single ounce of interest I might have had. Did they just decide to use every cliche they could think or something?

Not sure I see the problem. Sure, it's riddled with cliches, but most mainstream video games tend to be trope-a-rific. Heck, I'm just happy there's finally going to be a mainstream big-deal Star Wars game aside from the first Dark Forces* that revolves around not being a Jedi or Sith of some form and where it's not even an option. Lightsabers are all well and good, but there's so damn much untapped out there aside from Glowsticks Of Doom, it's good to see it being explored.

*Not counting flight sim fightery stuff like X-Wing or TIE Fighter.

Whenever a new Star Wars game is announced that is sounding anything like Jedi Knight or Battlefront series I get disappointed.

Also, no lightsabers? Seriously? I know that a vocal minority claims they're tired and/or not as cool as blasters...

Though last time I checked it's not Star Wars blasters that are a staple and visualization best attributed to the series.

a star wars 3rd person shooter does not get me particularly excited, but maybe the story will be good. i mean, shadows of the empire was awesome so maybe this will show promise

Why not? Every Star Wars game that has been good is 3rd Person.

Just have to point out that Republic Commando was 1st Person.

Also that the default view for everything except the lightsaber in Jedi Outcast was in First-Person. In fact, only the PC version actually allowed you to manually change the view you used, as far as I remember.

OT: Well, I liked Bounty Hunter so if this can feel anything like that game, then color me tentatively interested.

Finally. I've grown tired of playing the Jedi. I'd much rather work with Star Wars era gadgets and weaponry than the Force. I hope it turns out well.

Aimed for adults? You mean the group of people who after over a decade are still forming over episode I? Yeah, I'd suggest you divorce the game from the Star Wars name if you want to do that. It will increase sales quiet a bit.

Long time reader and lurker, if that diminishes my "reputation" in your eyes...whatever, you'd be surprised at how little I crave your approval.

Considering LA's recent first-person form, you'd agree a good game is not the favourite with the bookies.
