hardly surprising.. the government is pretty much designed to waste time, but lulz aren't exactly ethical themselves

hypocritical hackers, that's a more interesting news story!

as-long as they don't hack their way into trouble and don't start stealing things they're just pointing out security flaws and whilst i don't agree with that sort of thing because it can cause unexpected complications, outages in services and security codes to have a mass Cthulhu tentacle attack on anything near it
( seriously, poor is the fool that hacks the wrong system it will ram tentacles up your butt so long they black out the sun for anyone in the same zip code. )
it 'can' highlight security flaws that need to be fixed to prevent more hostile attacks on similar services

the problem is, the second they release any personal information they're just being the illegitimate sons of kings.
it is theft to take any information from anyone's database,
and that's what they're doing isn't it?
so lul, you are thieves.

i hope you understand that when you get nailed to a stake!

In the age of GMail and Hotmail, people are logging into porn sites with their work e-mail?
I dont understand either :/
But I dont understand why they say we should expose those people for visiting porn sites eventhough they visit them every day themself
Well here are possible reasons
1)It's for the lulz. They hit people in the government and the military. Usually considered in a status above the average citizen. They're basically just being like "Your authority doesn't apply to us and you can't stop us."
2) Government employees are paid in your tax dollars. If government employees are watching porn instead of doing important work while being paid on the clock, that is a problem. If I watch porn while at my place of work and getting a paycheck in the private sector, that's still a problem. It's not so much hypocritical as "We pay you to do this?????!"

With all the noise Lulzec is making, sooner or later there's gonna be a backslash. I just hope it's them who pays, and not the gamers.
How is this article related to gamers...Unless you're implying this is our second favourite passtime.POPPYCOCK I SAY!
It isn't per se, it just so happened that this was the article on which i lashed out on. Seems every other news-segment today is about Lulzec or Anonymous.
That, and you know... poppcock...

Lulz are a bunch of assholes. It was stupid for the government employees to use their work E-mails, true, but how would that alter their jobs? To tell people about it is just cruel. These Lulz guys need to think about what they are doing to people, hack if you must, but don't screw over other peoples' lives for your own perverse pleasure.

Has anyone considered the fact that the government logins are there for people doing their jobs: ie. looking for pedophiles and child pornography? That was the first thing that popped into my head.

Government emails as logons, eh? The immense stupidity of using a real email aside, I wonder...might those belong to some of those moralistic imbeciles that got elected to stop the "moral decline of our society?" The irony would be delicious...

I wouldn't be ashamed that people knew I was watching porn, but the fact that people knew I was paying for it. Everybody looks at porn. Smart people know the free sites.
That's quite brilliant. I'd say "That just won you one internet" and post a totally arbitrary meme, but I'm too lazy to find one.

I seriously hope LulzSec gets jailed.
get your tinfoil hats on, i have a crazy theory :p

i think lulzsec may actually be a "secret" division of anonymous meant to do all the things anonymous technically "shouldn't" do, but now can (like the gustapo or KGB or CIA).

okay tinfoil hats off.

OT: All hackers should be punished SEVERELY, to a point that people will be too afraid to do it (like labor camps or something...)

they should be forced to crawl around in sewers and clean them with toothbrushes at gunpoint
or something equally nasty and pointless

I don't use my .mil e-mail account for porn, because I don't use account based porn. Why pay for what you can get for free?

I don't understand why it matter if someone on the government would do something like this... and how do we even know they are doing it on the job? You can use your work email at home.

What is '.mil'? My first thought is military, but doesn't that also fall under .gov?

So, they failed in their attempt to hack Facebook (because it is a Fort Knox of security) and now they're trying to get other, stupider people to attempt to do it for them? Classy.

I'm kind of left with a "so what?", so these guys/gals look at porn. It's dumb to do it from your work account, but whatever.

It's like the whole Bethesda thing: "We just stole a shit ton of info from you, bitches and posted it online. We may have caused you financial harm and set back the release of Skyrim, and damaged people's faith in your company, but we're only doing it because we love you!"

Now they sound like an abusive ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.
