I still think Sony deserves this treatment. They have been treating people like shit for years and now the people are treating them the same.

What is your point Lulzsec. Freedom of Speech or something, I don't actually think all these hacks class as Freedom of Speech anymore, more just criminal activities. Enjoy pound me in the ass prision when it comes to you.
Where on earth do you get "Freedom of Speech" as Lulzsec's motivation? Lulzsec =/= Anonymous.

Lulzsec is trying to uncover the crappy security at Sony as retaliation for what they believe is bad behaviour.
No they aren't they are trying to completely destroy Sony, operation sownage was called "the beginning of the end for sony"

Lol, this is good news for me whenever Sony gets hacked. I hate the company, ever since they ruined and took over Star Wars Galaxies in 2005. They ruined a game with millions of players, and turned that number to thousands today. Too many companies try to copy world of warcraft because they dream of bathing in the green (Money), but what they're really bathing in is the hate of their customers for this repetitive cliche attempt to make a competing game for WoW.
So they deserve to have their company completely ruined and put so many people out of work?

You're motives are fucking retarded.

The internet needs more accountability behind it. If that means attaching each person to their social security number or whatever whenever they surf the web then so be it.
I agree, after this I no longer support the right to be anonymous on the internet. If there ever comes a vote that requires you to sign into the internet using a specific code every time, I am voting yes, this is seriously bullshit. I like Sony, they never did anything bad to me, and them failing is only going to hurt me.

Apparently, one member has already been arrested. The group claim they didn't know him, but everyone knows in a situation like this you disavow all knowledge.[link]http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/technology/following-arrest-lulzsec-still-going-strong-57312.html[/link]
I hope they get all the mother fuckers, then the rest of us can finally get some lulz

QFT. They could probably pick any other company out of a hat right now and do the same thing to them. Sony's just the one in the crosshairs. Customers were safe before all these hackers started pulling shit to make a point. I mean, the first big breach was just angry hackers trying to make a point right? If their security was so bad, why wasn't the first hack done by criminals trying to steal money? Why is it that the only danger Sony is in is from pricks trying to prove how in danger they are?
Ah yes, the voice of reason. At least, you would be if LulzSec was hacking Sony to 'show the flaws in their security'. LulzSec describe themselves as...

Lulz Security® (LulzSec), the world's leaders in high-quality entertainment at your expense
Not only are they aware that they're only hurting the customers...That's their entire motivation!
I think that is what they were both saying, I could be wrong but still...

I took rsvp42's point to be that he believed LulzSec were claiming to be doing it for a noble cause (To point out holes in Sony's security, which they HAVE claimed once before.)

That is...well...false. LulzSec is in it for the pain and suffering they cause, nothing more.

Why?! What reason do they have to keep hacking Sony? They aren't even trying to steal anything, they're just doing it for attention!
For the LULZ! the lulzboat flows on LULZ ya know!

OT:

Sony is no stranger to dataloss and hacks.
http://attrition.org/security/rants/sony_aka_sownage.html
Or bad programming that allows for hacks:
http://osvdb.org/search?search[vuln_title]=sony&search[text_type]=titles

When will Sony stop getting the shit kicked out of them by hackers? when they layer the internal networks with security between each layer, learn how to encrypt data... you know something that was suggested 20 odd years ago for basic protection. and they probably wont survive until then. Right Now Sony is the horse thats about to become
Look at how the stocks in Sony are going? its dropping around 2 to 5% per day.

The Sony you seen last year is dying. what will happen? either the company as a whole closes wich will be good in many ways for consumers but bad for Sony employees or they will completly revamp its image after the CEO gets fired and they start whole new bussiness practices and produce better quality products. good for the employees and possibly good for consumers.

Sony fanboys, you people are Idiots! Sony never cared about its customers and they have been screwing you over for years. Betamax and HD/DVD for example, why is a Hardware manufacturer dictating what media you use and not the best ones? look at stero equpment they made over the years. same shit in a new box with the buttons in a different spot and act like its all new. now with its consoles theres a whole new mess for dbagging the consumers and realy just renting them out and not a real sale. but atleast they are not as bad as Apple is and the fanboys for sony are smarter than Apple ones...

Lulsec are script kiddies? oh hell no they are not script kiddies, they are the ones who make script the kiddies use. Most likely they are IT admins in charge of security at some company(ies).

They didnt do much to Nintendo because they like them? bullshit. they didnt get anything from Nintendo because they had proper security and Lulzsec cut and run because they didnt want to get caught during the hack when they would be most vulnerable to tracking or Nintendo caught them in the act and Lulzsec saw that.

If you agree with these hackers than you agree with removing freedom of choice. Why would you want to remove my freedom of choice? I don't understand that at all.

I hope these attacks continue just long enough for SONY to pull out of the console hardware business and become a mediocre multi-platform publisher.

Good God, they are going to get caught and destroyed publicly. You can't hide on the internet forever.

Edit: Really the problem that I have with this is that if they manage to win and beat Sony into the ground, Microsoft will step up and have complete control of the multi platform games.

You pissed about Sony, Lulzsec? Wait till Microsoft monopolizes the video game industry. Hope you like that 20$s a month Xbox live charge.

Excuse me, did you read anything or just skim it?????

I am not anti-Sony. I do have severe issue with them flooding the market with cheap shit they call products because they invested in one format and that format being the lesser of the 2. I also have issues with the rental instead of buy thing they are pushing towards alongside Apple. and the stereo market they hold? brand name only, the product is average at best compared to above average it was in the 80's.

As for the security issues? Sony's track record speaks for itself. same for if they care about the customer is inside the track record. I dont care what company it is, if they lose any customer personal information then they get a dont trust from me. they lose it and passwords were not encrypted? they get a hell fucking no trust them. they get hacked like Sony was hacked... there is no way i will do bussiness with them directly.

read this site:
http://datalossdb.org/ or http://datalossdb.org/incident_highlights/53-sony-had-how-many-breaches

Is thast anti sony ranting? NO its pointing out they fucked up. they screwed the pooch when it came to being entrusted with customer info. for fucks sake passwords were not encrypted! personal information found on a Sony server without a hack needed? c'mon what do you need to know more to know that company cannot be trusted? its not fucking rocket science!

And i mentioned fanboys, maybe next time i will say you instead.

Yes these hackers will, they are a closed group and small, and very very vocal. one will fuck up or the FBI who has a personal vendata will eventualy track them down.

Well, sooner or later one of these douche bags is going to be caught. It's inevitable. Especially since the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, and a slew of other multinational departments are already on the case of the PSN Network hack. All it will take for a firestorm of evidence on these assholes is one of these damn punks being shackeled in a sealed room getting interrogated by the same kind of guys who squeezed the juicy, messy details about Bin Laden out of war hardened terrorists. Oh, I'm sure they'll be "loyal" to the cause at that moment. I hope they keep poking the bear, I honestly do. The more they poke, the more swift the inevitable lethal retaliation will be. Last time I checked, computer skills don't really help when you're trying to avoid Big Bubba's penetration attempts in the community showers in a Federal prison.

p.s. Hackers are pond scum - I hope they all rot in hell.

Dear Sony,

May I suggest some basic things you may want to decide to do in the near future. One of which is invest in internet security personel who know what they are doing. I suggest you fire your current ones, as they obviously are too busy looking at porn to do their damn job. I also suggest that you then listen to your new employees, and follow their instructions on how not to be hacked successfully on a daily basis.

Furthermore, you might want to look into taking your internet services offline temporarily, as this always brews hate towards the people who are at fault. This will buy you some time to implement the security correctly, as opposed to half assing it again.

These guys are a fucking joke. Multiple sources confirmed that none of the usernames and passwords they leaked worked, Sony outright denied a breach (which would make sense if none of the US/Pass combos worked...) on their first attack. Their second attack... what did they claim to get? Nothing? And the third attack? They claim they have it, but nothing is verified.

I hope these guys get sent to prison and tenderly loved. They are basically the epitome of the worst of internet culture, combined with stupid "hackers" who are just seeking their 15 minutes of fame.

Okay, there comes a time when I can't be mad at Lulzsec anymore. I haven't quite reached that point, as they're pretty much just doing it to be dicks, but...really, Sony? Really? You're just gonna sit back and let this happen? At this point, these attacks are just pointing out how pathetic your response to this phenomenon has been.

Are you keeping everything in plain text Sony? Because in SonyPictures.com you have done it. Now I am wondering about the rest.
