I rip out Nega Salts heart, eat it, and then rip his skull (as well as the spine) out of his head.
I howl loudly and walk out of the building covered in his blood, carrying my new trophy.

Nega Trilby and I get out of the van, take a large case out of the back, walk up to Salt's house, kick in the door and enter the main room.
"Congratulations on finding Aradia."
Nega Trilby tosses Salt a cushion.
"Make sure you're in a good position. Death throes can leave such nasty scars."

 

[Saltarius]

"What the hell are you talking about? I'm not killing her! You can't make me! Not with some, manipulation bullshit or anything. SHe's already had to go through that with Sollux."

"Oh? Well, that's good for you. You. Not, say, Gideon."
I open up the case and take out JUST1C3 Mk.II. Nega Trilby starts to assemble the Davy Crockett.
I aim a wand directly at Gideon.
"Kill Aradia, or we fire the Crockett. We're in an enclosed space, so even if we miss, the blast will get you and your family."
"If we are correct, then someone other than you killing Aradia will put us into an instant failure state and reset the universe. If we're wrong, then that just means you're wasting all your time on them and you will continue to do so."

 

[Saltarius]

"You heartless bastards."

I slowly raise my revolver and put it close to Aradia's temple. My hand shakes feverishly as I try and find the strength to pull the trigger.

Then her eyes flutter open. She sees her long lost husbandd with a gun to her head. Her eyes widen.

I barely manage to choke out an 'I'm sorry' before squeezing the trigger. Red beads form in Aradia's eyes.

The thermite round pierces her forehead as she is knocked back. The sparks and flames erupting from her gushing red forehead leap to Gideon.

He wakes with a start and howls in pain as I grab him and rush to the sink to put him out.

It is too late. His candy-red blood stains my palms.

My body shakes as I hold the corpse of my son.

"Are you FUCKING HAPPY!?" I scream.

Nega Trilby and I lower our weapons and walk away.

 

[Saltarius]

"Of course you walk away. You can't own up. I...I...oh god, what have I done?"

I collapse onto the ground and weep.

 

[Knife-28]

Knife pulls up to Salt's house just in time to see the Trilbys walk away. Stepping inside he sees Aradia's body on the lounge and, with a tired sigh, walks over to her and closes her eyes. Hearing the weeping coming from the kitchen, and seeing the trail of cherry red blood, he puts two and two together and walks back outside to allow Salt to grive.

X crashes a pick up truck into Nega Trilby as he walks away from the house

You hear screams outside your home, then panicked calls for help. Trilby and his Nega abscond, leaving you alone.

Minutes pass. Sirens ring on the crowded street.

You grovel on the floor, staring at the torn and blood soaked carpet. You cannot look at her. Not after what they-

No. This is you. This is all on you.

She is your ticket out of this paradimensional mess.

You put the hot barrel to your temple. It burns.

You sit in front of a wide desk. A stack of papers is in front of you. Several space cops stand by your side.

The lawyer clears his throat.

"We need your signature, Saltarius."

Your name is Saltarius. And you are master of the known universe.

Granted, the known universe is a Mall hurdling through unknown space. But still. Not too shabby a position.

As mentioned before, you are sitting at your desk. The lawyer anticipates your signature on a stack of papers. 

What will you do?

I sign the papers begrudgingly.

I take the rest of the day off and return home.

"Sis? Is Aradia still...y'know...missing?"

"Who?"

I look around. I'm back in my makeshift home.
"Dammit."
Nega Trilby has already began the investigation.
"Trilby. We can't rule Aradia dying out."
"I think the fact that it didn't work rules it out."
"Unless Aradia had to die and Gideon had to survive."
"That... hmm. Wait, what other constants do we have?"
"None, apart from Salt signing those papers."
I quickly phone Salt.
"Don't sign the papers! Just... don't. We need to be thorough!"

 

[Saltarius]

"Aradia Megido? My wife?"

"Tril, if I EVER see your fucking face again, you are going to deeply regret that you can't die."

"Truth is, I hit my head and forgot everything. Sum up significant events in my life as the mall's master."

"Why? Because my idea didn't work? Because you didn't call my bluff? Because you didn't move your son to safety before you shot Aradia and thereby killed him? You can get mad all you want, but all I did was try to fix something which YOU MOST LIKELY CAUSED!"

I find myself sitting in an office cubical, stareing into the unfimiliar face of someone who looks very, very angry. "-o more of these computer games during working hours, or you are fired!" He yells, sending flicks of spittle flying every which way. "Am I clear!?"
"As crystal...sir." I shakly answer, before the man stalks off. I wait for a few minutes then, after checking he's not still hanging around, duck into the bathroom and get a look at myself. I'm wearing a practical white shirt and purple tie, and have the sort of build one would expect from an office worker. Checking my pockets, I find a wallet, a phone and some car keys. I walk out of the bathroom and take the elevator down to the parking level, get in my car and decide to drive around the city for a while, looking for the others.

Knife meanwhile, finds himself walking the city streets. Looking around, he decides to walk into the nearest bar, intending to spend whatever money he has on him.
