Mark... Wahlberg...
Nathan Drake - charming, witty, funny, handsome. So they decided to pick Mark Wahlberg? The guy has about as much charm or humour as the plant pot that co-starred in The Happening.
Not only was an Uncharted movie a ridiculous idea, (what with Uncharted being so heavily inspired by films already), but this casting along with the creation of father and uncle characters is just so irritatingly terrible.
Exactly what I was thinking. I have never played the Uncharted Games, but I figured that Drake was a funny one-liner type of guy. I don't see Mark Walhberg being very good at that (although the action scenes will be pretty cool).
These men nail it down. Max Payne was a good casting for Wahlberg, Nathan Drake is not as Wahlberg probably doesn't have the comedy timing required.

I'm dumbfounded at this. He may be capable of acting to some degree, but I have difficulty believing he can do the character justice.

Why the fuck do we need a fucking Uncharted film??!! Seriously, the games are already so blatantly movie like and cinematic that you may as well just go and play them, even more so because they last longer, are more interective and more fun.

Why in gods name do we need a movie of a game of every action movie ever made?? Oh and it's a game to move conversion, so it'll suck anyway just like all the others, so I refuse to see it on principle.

Mark Wahlburg...this has put serious doubts in my mind and just cost the production two cinema tickets. I call it now - rental at best.

Damn it! Wahlberg was already involved in a botched game movie (Max Payne)
I wanted Fillion in the role, well actually I would've picked Bradley Cooper, but Nathan Fillion was a close second.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME

they've just destroyed the only reason to see this movie.

Nathan Fillion was literally the best person who could have possibly played the role. Just look at his career. He became famous by playing a wise-cracking career thief. Granted, Malcolm Reynolds actually had a coherent motivation, which is more than could be said for Nathan Drake, but who cares?!

It's F*CKING MAL!!!

I can't say I've liked any one of Wahlberg's movies. Not one. Still, here's hoping this turns out alright.

Because anything worth doing, is worth doing a million times and then ruining.

(See Super Mario Bros: The Movie, Sonic The Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat: The Movie, Street Fighter: The Movie and The Adventures of Zelda: The Animated Series)

I'm not saying Mark is a bad actor, but Nathan Drake is supposed to be a charming, playfull prick.

I don't think Marky has the correct screen presence for that.

Then again, the movie was probably going to suck for the get go.

Kind of weird how the guy who acted as Drake isn't given the part....I think he would know how to do it. But still, Mark Wallburg is a good actor and is still a good choice for the character. I have to support a fellow Bostonian

I honestly think they should have used James Roday(main guy from Psych)

but it doesn't matter since I'm still going too see it.
Hmm, i haven't seen him do anything were he needs to be tough....but that would be a pretty cool choice. As long as we don't have gus tagging along.

I think the only question worth asking here is:

Is Mark Wahlberg gonna have to show his dick again?

No, but really, I like Mark but he seems unfit. He's better of playing teen age rebels or making fun of himself in comedies. Maybe the Uncharted project will die down now.
