But I'm not forcing my opinion down anyone's throat... Look, I wasn't even saying that he was forcing his opinion down anyone else's throat either. I'm just questioning his reasoning because I don't get it and wondering why he's getting so defensive about it. Of course he's allowed to have a different opinion than me, if anyone thinks it's crap than they can go ahead but they should be ready for people questioning that opinion.Signa said:So he's not allowed to have a different opinion than you? Based on your first point: I (and many others) feel the criticism is valid. If you do a project on something and remove a large aspect of what made the original special then of course people are going to disapprove.
Take a look at what MB posted.
Now THAT looks awesome. You could definitely see this in TF2, she fits right in. Look back at the other engie. You would never know it was related to TF2 unless we were told.Moonlight Butterfly said:Didn't Chemical Alia do some awesome female TF2 models?
I'm sure they were much better than these ones.
I can appreciate the person has talent but I don't have to like something regardless of how many times I get quoted to be told that I am wrong for not liking it.

I think the Engineer and Medic are prettier.Jove said:Judging by the 2nd comment and this one, maybe its because the Soldier is by far the prettiest one. 0_0Fappy said:The Soldier is the best by far. Not sure why, but it was the only one that made me smile.
You have a point. TF2 is quite cartoony with exaggerated physical characteristics for characters (See: heavy).Matthew94 said:Medic - Cool
Heavy - Meh
Spy - Meh
Scout - Cool
Pyro - Kinda cool
Engie - Meh
Demo - Nope
Soldier - Awesome
Most of these are pretty crap. They're all too "real", TF2 has an awesome extravagant art style and this shits all over it as most of them look normal.
I thought the pyro was the engie at first as they all look pretty damn similar sans weapons.
EDIT Ah, the "spy" was actually a sniper. That proves my point in my eyes.
I'm too lazy to look now (stupid argument anyway...), but I thought he did say why he felt that way. That's all I ask when people express their opinions. I just saw you calling him out for throwing a tantrum when like 4 other people quoted him disagreeing with his assessment. I'd be pissed too!Geo Da Sponge said:But I'm not forcing my opinion down anyone's throat... Look, I wasn't even saying that he was forcing his opinion down anyone else's throat either. But hey, if you try having an actual debate about something's artistic merit then this is what you get. Maybe I shouldn't have gone all Inquisition about it, but saying that something is your opinion doesn't help anyone understand anything.
That would be an awful sight! Ughhh!bafrali said:I don't think i dig the "edgy" look, let alone rule 63 version of TF2. Good thing he didn't draw a female Saxton Hale.
i agree, my favorite was the medic, though the sniper and demoman were close seconds.Bat Vader said:Those drawing are really good. I wish I was that good at drawing. Out of all of them I like the female medic the best.
yeah, i agree. one of the best genderbent heavies i have seen. i find it particularly annoying when people draw female versions of... well anything, making either their dress, or their breasts, so exaggerated or over-sexualised for no particularly good reason. (and there are few reasons good enough to justify something like that)Muffin Button said:Always nice to see a rule 63 Heavy that's, well, actually 'heavy' and looks like they could actually have a chance of holding the minigun, rather than the mass only being applied to certain feminine features.
Guess I'm not exactly the target audience for those ones though...
whatever do you mean? is there a problem with females with particularly exaggerated.... uhh, eyes? yeah, cant even really make a joke about that, its unfortunately the curse of the internet.zehydra said:You have a point. The problem with applying that formula to female characters is that "female cartoon characters with exaggerated physical features" is just asking for problems.
Edit: Nevermind. I went back and looked at the pictures and now I know what you mean about the Pyro. I think they did that to show what they think the female version of the Pyro would look like underneath the mask.Quazimofo said:i agree, my favorite was the medic, though the sniper and demoman were close seconds.Bat Vader said:Those drawing are really good. while these are good drawings, i can see why people dont like them so much for their differentiation from the classic team fortress 2 art style.
however i disagree as to their accusations of poor quality, as the drawings are top notch, and i personally like it when people re-iamgine things with an alternative art style, so long as it stays true to the original; and most of these did, except for the pyro (no mask, no iconic weapon).
and as for the engineer, i guess i dont like the trading of the hat for a hairstyle i dont care for, particularly not with that color, and i dont like the exposed face so much, as the engineer is most always seen with his goggles on. or..... well... i dont know. just SOMETHING about that head is just.... not right.
yeah, but the point is nobody knows, and its likely nobody ever will know. thats part of the character. when you see the face, its almost like they are a different person, especially when you combine it with a gender bend.Bat Vader said:Edit: Nevermind.
