Really guys? Furries?
Well Nostalgia Critic has his own website that generates it's own profit via advertisements. He wouldn't need a slot on the Escapist.Hithlain said:I'm going to set the warning level to "meh" for now... until I see the actual thing.
I understand trying to bring new things to the escapist, but couldn't it be someone like the Nostalgia Critic rather than dogs?
I was just saying someone like the Nostalgia Critic. I mean, obviously that type of video personality is the type that Escapist users like.Internet Kraken said:Well Nostalgia Critic has his own website that generates it's own profit via advertisements. Before this becomes a conspiracy theory about how Game Dogs was born of our hatred for Pokemon, allow me to note that we signed Pocket Monsters to do a 6-episode mini-series with option for extension.splatterguy734 said:I feel cautious optimism.I wholeheartedly agree about pocket monsters' brutal snub.Archemetis said:You shafted most of the users when it came to Pocket Monsters
Seconded'd'ed'd. I'm all for sexual understanding and openness, but keep it in the species, folks!DannyBoy451 said:Furries?

Actually it was me, the same guy who said "that's a wonderful idea for a show!" when he saw the first episode of everything else we produce at The Escapist. Nice to meet you!Renamedsin said:The guy who wrote the script for "Days of our lives"blunted said:Seriously, who looks at that and says "that's a wonderful idea for a show"?

Bring home the money, dogs! Mr. Jobs, you can call me on my cell about buying me a yacht.9) We're lining up to sell ourselves to Pixar, so talking animals were a necessity.
Oh what could have been!Archon said:2) The show was originally called Game Gods, but our lead artist has dyslexia, and she made dog concept art befpre we had a chance to stop her. The dogs were cute, so we ran with it.
Are you joking with us, Archon?Archon said:Before this becomes a conspiracy theory about how Game Dogs was born of our hatred for Pokemon, allow me to note that we signed Pocket Monsters to do a 6-episode mini-series with option for extension.splatterguy734 said:I feel cautious optimism.I wholeheartedly agree about pocket monsters' brutal snub.Archemetis said:You shafted most of the users when it came to Pocket Monsters
Also, here all the reasons the show uses dogs:
1)As fast pack hunting animals, they have superior capability to understand multiplayer gameplay and 3D terrain navigation, as compared to prowling carnivores like cats. Duh.
2) The show was originally called Game Gods, but our lead artist has dyslexia, and she made dog concept art befpre we had a chance to stop her. The dogs were cute, so we ran with it.
3) The show was originally called Game Boys, but Nintendo made us change them to dogs.
4) Dogs are easier to draw.
5) We wanted an opportunity to sell to dog food manufacturers and other new sources of ad revenue. Also, ad buyers are often women, and women love dogs more than they like games.
6) IGN is filled with cat people, so we thought this could be a differentiation strategy.
7) It was meant to remind our early 30s audience of 80s cartoons, which always feature animals, as part of the overall 80s feel in the show.
8) It's part of an overall strategy to replace our community with a new, furry fanbase.
9) We're lining up to sell ourselves to Pixar, so talking animals were a necessity.
10) The Escapist has just gone to the dogs, basically.
