Indeed. Anyone remember this [http://kotaku.com/5403286/what-modern-warfare-2-boycotters-are-playing] hilariousness from a while back? For those who don't remember, before the release of Modern Warfare 2, there was a huge internet fuss about it not having dedicated servers for PC, and a big drive to boycott the game entirely. There was a Steam group set up for people to join in and let everyone know they would boycott it. That link shows a picture of the boycott group immediately after the game was released. The majority of members were playing Modern Warfare 2.Mahorfeus said:Well, that was... subtle. But you know what? She's absolutely right. There are people that say that they already hate this movie that will inevitably spend their money on a ticket anyway; just so that it will give them more fuel to throw on the fire, I guess.
They do have no reason to care what anyone says, which is exactly why Megan needs to shut up and ignore a tiny minority of fans that are bent out of shape over an unsurprisingly stupid-sounding narrative shot by a special effects-porn director and featuring a woman that's become famous by selling her own sex appeal.Kahani said:I'm far from a fan of Megan Fox, in fact I don't think I've seen a single film of hers that I actually liked, but on this point she is absolutely right - the majority of these whining about the Turtles film on the internet will be the first people into the cinemas when it's released. You vote with your wallet, not with internet Facebook likes and Twitter whining. Until people are actually willing to stand by their words and actually not pay money for things they claim not to like, Fox, Bay, any everyone else involved with films like this are well within their rights to just tell the whiners to fuck off. They have no reason to care what anyone says, it's what people do that matters.
We must be living in different realities. This sort of thing is fairly common. The only reason it's getting so much attention is because hate lightning rod Megan Fox is saying it.Res Plus said:Nice to have some blunt speech rather than the generic "I fink peplz will like it". People are too prissy these days.
On the flip side, I think she's a pretty terrible actress but my reaction is simply not to watch her movies. I mean, I don't like her, but I think the drudge people harbour against her is stupid. Especially if they're still nursing the "fake geek girl" grudge.Res Plus said:Probably my shallow appreciation of current news events then I guess, I do have a throughly modern tendency to skim stuff.
I can agree Megan does seem to attract a lot of abuse, I always quite liked her but then I wasn't deeply invested in Transformers as a kid so I don't very the films as an appalling betrayal. I suspect TMNT is going to be equally popular.
Hold on, I got you covered.GamerMage said:Ah, the smell of model rage. We knew this was coming, (As is the reviews, which I'm anxiously waiting. =]) all I really have to say is: "Yes, give us all your rage. >=) (Insert Jeremy Irons D&D reference here)".canadamus_prime said:Classy Megan Fox, really classy. ¬__¬ I guess PR isn't your strong suit is it? Along with acting and doing anything other than flaunting your body all over the place.
From what I understand about the situation it wasn't really Bay's idea to fire her. It was Spielberg, who was an exec. producer on the transformers movies, that demanded she get canned for her comments. Since then Fox and Bay have buried the hatchet and Spielberg isn't part of the production team from the new ninja turtles movie.Azmael Silverlance said:What I DONT GET is how come Megan Fox was sacked by Michael Bay from the transformers movies for being a ***** and saying something about him as well if i remember correctly. And then she gets a job on his new project![]()
Don't know the narrative or what silly things they're doing to twist conventional TMNT lore, but I don't understand why people don't understand why some people are mad.thebobmaster said:I don't think it looks that good, but the rage over the trailer baffles me a bit.
...Way to cut out the part where I said that Megan Fox was in the wrong for her statement. She had a slight point, in that the people constantly complaining about things before launch always seem unable to help themselves from spending money on it. *cough*Modern Warfare 2 boycott*cough* That said, she chose the best phrase possible to piss off any fans on the fence about seeing it, since they clearly don't matter to her at all.AgedGrunt said:Don't know the narrative or what silly things they're doing to twist conventional TMNT lore, but I don't understand why people don't understand why some people are mad.thebobmaster said:I don't think it looks that good, but the rage over the trailer baffles me a bit.
Anime watchers: pick one you like and give it to Michael Bay, featuring Megan Fox and Whoopi Goldberg. If you don't like it, fuck off. You'll probably pay to see it anyway.
Because "fuck off" is the best example of what to say when you don't care...Kahani said:...Fox, Bay, any everyone else involved with films like this are well within their rights to just tell the whiners to fuck off. They have no reason to care what anyone says, it's what people do that matters.
That doesn't surprise me, considering her sudden return to working on things with Bay's name attached. It was her outward expression of contempt for Bay that got her booted out of the Transformers franchise in the first place. When I saw that she'd be playing April in this fail of a TMNT movie, I immediately thought that she must be trying to crawl back into his good graces. After all, what else has she done since Transformers that anyone remotely cares about or remembers, good OR bad? Exactly. And then, looking at what she is quoted to say in this article, it reminds me of an almost word for word account of Bay's sentiments regarding his movies. So yeah, this is the PR equivalent of a shit-eating grin. Anything to keep Bay happy. Not G. Ivingname said:Isn't this coming from the same actress that utterly hates Michel Bay?
Would it be wrong to suggest that thousands of anime fans would probably have a few colorful words to say about a Michael Bay anime film? Heck, if he's not available, why not give another anime to M. Night Shyamalan (apologies, I know there is no Airbender film)?thebobmaster said:As for me, if they were to, say, take Monster (probably my favorite anime) and give it to Michael Bay, and the trailer didn't look like it would appeal to me, I wouldn't watch it. That's it. I wouldn't go online, find every article on the Escapist that mentions the movie, and talk about how much it's going to suck.
