Edit: Does this make Wrex a 360 fanboy? (Since now he is technically a Microsoft character)
Consider this: is Grunt a fan of his creator?
I dont know who that is, but I think I can guess your point.

But like it or not, he IS a Microsoft exclusive. Though I guess they (Bioware_ could always DLC him in for some money.

If it does see a ps3 port i might pick it up, considering how much praise it recieves from the escapist community. But what is so great about ME2? I played ME1 at a friends and hated every single bit.
Well, if you hated the whole experience than ME2 might not be for you either. I do know that certain gripes people had with the first game such as the crappy vehicle driving, annoying inventory system and the weapon cooldown thing were all adressed and fixed. 'Cept for that last one, in my opinion.
As for the story, I think it just gets weaker, only really picking up near the end. Don't be afraid to try it out for yourself though.

The randy, tank-bred Krogan from ME2? Pretty much the new Wrex sidekick? ah, I tried...

I did not get far in ME2. As I said, I tried without my ME1 data and it felt wrong. And I keep putting off replaying ME1 (since I want to do it exactly how I want, and blah blah)

Sore losers...wow. Planet sized egos, pea sized brains. You don't see Sony complaining about Insomniac games going multiplatform or MGS Rising going to the 360. Microsoft is just disgusting.

Well I guess Microsoft are a bitter about losing one of their exclusives... I can't blame them, I'm sure Sony would do the same in that situation, Or any other company for that matter.

Though I agree with them to an extent, having experienced the first game would probably be the best but well you can still do that on the PC. Though is the 360 the best console to play Mass Effect 2 on?. Well at the moment it is (being that it's the only console to have it) but for the future... Too early to tell. We don't know what will be lost or gained during the transition. I have my doubts on the PS3 being the better version as ported games never seem to turn out well but we'll have to see.

Though it doesn't really affect me as I already own the game for the 360. It would be interesting to see what changes have been made.

Why would porting a game like Mass Effect be worse on a console with more blu-ray disc space? Surely they can cram better graphics, more extras etc onto a blu-ray!
Well in theory I guess but from experience PS3 ports tend to suffer in the graphics and performance department (with a few exceptions... DA:O) I doubt this one will be any different. Apparently the PS3 is a pain in the arse to port for, though I don't know the ins and outs of all that. I just play the games and go by what I see. In theory however I can't see why it should suffer however I think with the PS3's port track record... It probably will.

One thing I have to ask is what's the whole big deal about having it all on one disk?. Now I know it's better because you don't have to mess around switching disks. However I wouldn't say it's that big of a deal, the swap disk part wasn't that much of a pain... Just took a few seconds out of your time.

I will still get this despite not playing ME1, if it mattered THAT much about carrying a save over then they would have made a ME1 for the PS3!
Well they couldn't because Microsoft own the publishing rights. If your referring to the fact that the game should have been made for the PS3 from the beginning... Well we don't know what happened behind closed doors, maybe there was a deal made for it to be a 360 exclusive.

Yeah and £40 to replace your PS3 controller -sniff-. Also I agree, people always rabbit on about how Gold is expensive and how PSN is free but with XBL is much, much better. I find the content available better too and the dashboard to look cooler. Also PSn now as this whole PSN plus thing going on which from the looks of things is about the same price, you get a few games free and a bit of extra content but I wouldn't say it justifies the price. Though I could be wrong, I haven't upgraded to plus so I don't have first hand experience.

The only things that are MS exclusive now are Halo, L4D, Fable, Gears, Forza, and Crackdown and most of those games can be found on PC.

Kinect has too many problems and too few games to do anything for MS, the 360 now only has timed exclusive content (paid to be that way with a lot of MS money) to go along with its space marines, MS is in a pickle and it is only getting more and more sour with time.

Maybe they tried making a PS3 version, but the multiple cores were quickly subverted by the harbringers who attempted to use their many terraflops to open a rift to bring the Reapers in.

My take on this matter is that the game will be a lot more linear if you have to divid the game into 2 or more discs, for example in ME2 you have to recruit Mordin,Garrus,Jack and Grunt first to unlock the other 4 right?

If you can fit everything in Mass Effect 2 into 1 disc (or make the 2nd disk a content installation disc)then you might be able recruit any of the 8 at anytime you want.

In other word you can have something like this

The game will be a lot more...opened.

Well of course, Microsoft would say that. It seems as obvious as saying the sky is blue or the sun is hot.
I am glad that you added that key phrase at the end, there: "Or everybody could just play the entire series on the PC, too." I've been mostly a PC gamer all my life, and although we're scheduled to buy a console soon, I'll be keeping most of my own games on the PC, if only because some are incomparable when the magic mod touch is applied (has completed changed my Elder Scrolls experience).

Micro$oft: "Whaa whaaa!!! We lost an exclusive franchise we had for months (years, in Mass Effect 1's case)!".

Honestly, why the hell does this matter again?
PS3 is dying for great exclusives, true. But all this fiasco has proven is just how polarized our current console generation is.

It's childish.
