Its cool that there are less and less exclusives.. People should be able to play the games they want on the System they chose.. Personally i Play mass effect 2 on PC.. never played the first one and didn't feel i missed a lot

As for all you Fan boys ,why are you so desperate for validation that your console purchase choice was the best option?

if they own a "superior" (according to who?) console Are you a better person, more intelligent, more informed and sexier than everyone else who doesn't have the same system ... get over your selves

The ranks of console exclusives have dwindled in the current generation as developers realize that they need to squeeze as much money out of their products as possible.
Did I miss something?
Isn´t this, like, literally the oldest idea in the world?
Microsoft, like everyone else wants to earn as much money as possible. Getting upset about that is like complaining your water is wet.

If the special introductory experience allows players to make their choices there, it could feel like PS3 version is going to be ME2 GOTY with out having to play through the (shall we say) less smooth ME1 to get the full ME2 experience with each new play through. IMO anyway

PS3 is dying for great exclusives, true.
That's entirely opinion, don't you think? I mean, when you factor in PC's, the PS3 has hand over fist more exclusives than the 360. (Including Game of the Year the last 2 years running).
"Game of the Year" is entirely based on who you ask. IGN? PC World? Gamespot? Hell, Angry Joe?
I can agree that certain games get such accolades, but you gotta give me more to work with than that.

And no, it's not entirely opinion; I can objectively state that because it's a numeric quantity (ok, I admit you must remove the word "great" or add the word "sales").
Right now, I'm straining to think of super-star games for the PS3 that don't have some 360 equivalent already, or haven't yet been ported.

MGS4...
Killzone series?

On the other hand...I can name so many big-money 360 titles my brain hurts (and no, I do not necessarily like them either).

No, I'm really trying to find them, because at one point or another I was interested in a next gen console (I have a Wii, and am quite frustrated at its lack of strong games), but I have a strict policy of 4 Must-have exclusives before I even consider committing the cash.

On topic:
I don't hate the PS3, nor the 360. I just don't get what the big deal here is.
If anything, I'd be more interested in why EA would suddenly play the changing-of-the-guard (did Sony bribe them? New contract? What's the real deal?); I couldn't care less about Microsoft bitching like a jealous 5-year old.

PC Uber Alles. I only care about exclusivity between consoles if the game is not on PC. I own an Xbox 360 Elite (which RROD'd after mere weeks), and am a lifelong console gamer/Ninty fanboy, but would always choose PC for a game such as Mass Effect.

Why would porting a game like Mass Effect be worse on a console with more blu-ray disc space? Surely they can cram better graphics, more extras etc onto a blu-ray!

I will still get this despite not playing ME1, if it mattered THAT much about carrying a save over then they would have made a ME1 for the PS3!
ok you have no idea what you're talking about.

i dont care PS3 uses blu-ray, the game graphics are worse than xbox360's. Seriously, read reviews of games, the PS3 version always get lower due to graphics and graphical glitches and frame rate issues.
It was my opinion, not fact! I don't know the in's and outs of both consoles but from the reviews I have read there is no difference what so ever between both consoles!

Yeah, they're gonna reconfigure and rework the game for P$3 so that they can have marginally better graphics and more content. /sarcasm

It's gonna be the same game, with the same content, with the same story, with the same graphics. You're an idiot if you think they'll do anything otherwise.
Why wouldn't they? This is Sony's chance to prove to other xbox exclusives that going to the PS3 is good for the games!

I never said the game would be massivly different! So don't call me an idiot for my personal opinion!

no need to call some one an idiot for voicing an idea which is doable, if not likely.

EVeryone's saying how Mass Effect games are better on the PC, but I own both of the games on the PC but I'd still rather play them on the XBOX.

The difference is negligable. Mouse and Keyboard controls aren't enough to tip it.

Now Dragon Age for example IS ACTUALLY better on the PC because of the battle system being COMPLETELY different from the XBOX360 or PS3.

Don't talk nonsense people.

Zing.

OT: Sure thing Microsoft, mindlessly listening to your marketing department is a great idea!

Thing is, I neither played the first game nor have access to DLC because I don't have broadband.
Again, the events of the gaming world pass me by. *sigh*

I'd have to agree the the Mass Effect series should be played on the PC or 360.

Playing ME2 without playing ME1 is like watching The Empire Strikes Back without having watched A New Hope.

It may not be bad, but you're missing out on A LOT. Also, the save does more than the article lets on. If you don't carry over a save, you get the "dickhead" ending from ME1 to carry over. I wouldn't even call it flat out renegade ending from ME1. (You can do renegade and still save Wrex, etc...)

You basically get the least interesting canon possible. Also, if you haven't played ME1, you don't have any reason to care about any of the characters. I was glad to reunite with my old squad in ME2, thanks to my ME1 experience. PS3 players will largely not care about them any more than the others. A lot of the story just won't have the "impact" it had on ME1 veterans.

So yes, Microsoft does have the best platforms to play Mass Effect on.

Mass Effect were the main reason I bought a xbox. It's a great game and I hope players on PS3 will enjoy this. Seems like they won't bother give out ME1 for PS3. ME1 has a better story, and ME2 is more of a shooter, but still great.
